Even though the fight is still two weeks away, its the next "big" fight(for hardcore fans) that we have to look forward to, so lets discuss it. I'm torn. Even though I'm still picking Katsidis, I wont lie. My head has been telling me Diaz. Juan has the better skills, and chin. More times than not, that wins out. But Katsidis has VERY heavy hands, and Diaz will be there for him to hit. I mean even if Juan chooses to box, its not like he's gonna develop the legs of Floyd, and the headmovement of Duran. He'll still be hittable. I think Katsidis is gonna force Diaz to war with him, and when that happens its all gonna come down to which will win out between Katsidis' power and fury, or Diaz's skill and chin. Idk which. My head says Diaz, my gut says Kat. When I make a prediction, most times I go with my head. This time Imma switch it up and go with my gut. Katsidis late TKO. I'm not even picking a round anymore, but I pick Kat by late stoppage.

I think Katsidis will WANT it more. He seems like a guy who LIVES and breathes to fight. While Babyfat freely admits that boxing isnt the most important thing to him.

This is a fight I am REALLY looking forward to. Just wanted to get that off my chest from the start. IMHO, this fight is Katsidis' to LOSE. Whether he does so is entirely up to him. He doesn't have a great chin, that much is obvious, but when he applies himself to a more cautious, measured approach, he is quite capable of fighting with the best of them. Even in the Casa fight, whose power he clearly underestimated, he managed to turn what was nearly a one round blow out into a near victory, until he got STUPID and loped in with his hands low again. Surely he can't make the same mistake again? Diaz has already said that he plans to stand and trade with Kat, which there is no reason to disbelieve. The problems in doing that if you are Diaz is twofold: 1. Diaz is absolutelty pillow fisted. I simply cannot see that he has enough power to do to Kat what Casa did. If Casa is a better than average puncher at elite level, Diaz is feather fisted. 2. Katsidis will hit him harder than he has ever been hit in his life. Seriously, Katsidis has superior firepower at his weight; a top five P4P puncher no doubt. If Nate Campbell was able to bust up Diaz, Katsidis could conceivably STRETCH him, because if Kat has one thing above all else, it is the ability to hit someone hard. And if Diaz plans to stand and trace, Katsidis will be able to hit him, and that gives him every chance. If Kat has LEARNED to keep his hands up and to work his way through a fight against this higher level of comp, it is all his to win. I think he will do so, coming out in an absolute WAR and FOTY contender, stopping Diaz late, somewhere around the 10th. MTF opcorn:
I've noticed in the previous discussions about this fight that there is an even amount of people who strongly favour one of the fighters. It's not like 90% of fans are strongly in one corner, with a few who think maybe the other guy can win. This one is split pretty even down the middle from what i can take, regardless of what the betting odds say. That said, I'm pretty confident Diaz won't take Katsidis power and this will end up being a blowout. I'll say TKO 3.
i'll have to go with Diaz. he has a good chin and i think he will bust Katsidis up even though he doesn't hit that hard. it should be an entertaining fight thought.
Diaz UD. He's got a good chin and the only advantage Katsidis has is power. If Katsidis can't knock Diaz out, he will lose a UD and that is what is going to happen. Diaz will outwork Katsidis. I'd pick Diaz by KO if he had even just a little bit of power.
