It got Abraham at number 10 and Sturm at number 7 ( and some dude I've never heard of at number 8). Can't comment any further than number 7 because I simply stopped reading after seeing Sturm name. Abraham at number 10 was already hard to figure out but there's alway's a contreversial pick in those kind of list so could give them the benefit of the doubt for that one. As far as I'm concerned, the Ring has officialy became irrevelant as of now ( it was on a sliding slope for a long time but this is pretty much the last nail in the coffin. This was the kind of shit I'd expect from a no name journalist trying to make a name for himself by making outrageous claim. Not from the so called bible of boxing ).

It's an all time list. Imo, Joppy and Holmes were pretty much in the realm of Sturm. I wouldn't even argue with someone rating Joppy over him.

Know what's really funny? According to The Ring (and in this case anyone with half a brain) neither guy was ever the fucking middleweight champion.

Is this perhaps a number of Title Defenses list, rather then a Greatest list?

I'd like to see the full article in context.

    worst list ever

    the writer should be shot

The Ring is a joke of a magazine. Their agenda is transparent. Ignore the decline of the sport in order to make "now" seem like it's a good era so that people will still think buying the magazine is a smart move. If that means you have to flat out LIE, than so be it.

I'm all for the first amendment. You have a right to lie, and I have a right to say you should be shot for doing so. I don't have a right to shoot you, but I do have a right to say I think you deserve it.

I have to point this again. According to The Fucking Ring Sturm and AA were never middleweight champion. Just unacceptable cocksuckery here.

No Griffin, Benevenuti, Zale, Cerdan, Lamotta, Flowers nor Tiger, but instead Sturm and Abraham. I am impressed!

Abraham is a beast. The only problem is it takes him 12 rounds to get going. If this guy was fighting 50 years ago he would be a legend.

Being strictly rational that is not necessarily a contradiction. My objection is there is no reason to rank Sturm or Abraham in the top 100. Abraham is barely a world level fighter.

    Irrelevant.

20 successful defenses of the title and he fought everyone that there was to fight including other titlists as well as Trinidad and De La Hoya. He also proved that he wasn't just an opportunist taking advantage of a weak division when he moved up and beat Tarver and then at 40+ became the first man to beat Pavlik.

Dominance/longevity at the top speaks more to greatness than any single great victory.

Buster Douglas' win over Tyson is greater than any single victory of Joe Louis. Would you rank Douglas over Louis?

WRONG. If you fight a consistent level of poor opposition it should count against you. He lost to the two best fighters he fought at 160 jONES AND JERMAIN TAYLOR. He lost to jermanin taylor twice:giggle::giggle:Not only is Hopkins not the greatest middle ever, I dispute that he was even a great fighter. His best victory was against Tarver and 175. Tarver is not and was never a great fighter. Calzaghe had a similar shitty level of comp and a dominant victory over the king of the undersized/bum beaters , hOPKINS

Hops was clearly a top 10 middle but having him at number 1 is demented

Asinine to have him at 1. Dude couldn't beat Jermain Taylor , the best man he fought in his undefeated streak.
