Andre Dirrell made weight at the second time of asking ahead of this weekend's clash with WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch in Nottingham.

Froch came in one pound under the 168lb limit, but Dirrell had to return to the scales after coming in four ounces overweight, eventually scaling 167.5lb.

American Dirrell later blamed a "misjudgement" for his excess weight.

Doesn't exactly sound like wonderful preparation. Anyone know if this is par for the course with this guy? :dunno:

I'd guess he was better off coming in 4 oz over than 4 oz under.

4oz at super middleweight is really insignificant.

    exactly...

Forrest came in a little over in the Mosley rematch...he walked around for 30 minutes, spit into a cup the whole time and made weight.

Dirrell has got to keep flurrying in circles, take a page out of Vitali's book, I badly, badly need Froch to get a beating, and the English deserve a beating for thier unconditional support for an absolute arsehole, ala Fraud-groupies,.. cheering on the 'symbolism' ... it's primitive shit,..:nono: you bastards need a thrust to the heart, and to wake up to yourselves :nono:.

I'm big on Froch and not from the UK. After the taylor fight, he was great and a real class act at the post fight press conference.

True class should only be evaluated after a loss,.. Bernard Hopkins for example,.. always classy after a win,..always,..

    Yes and no.

Being in boxing for such a long time, hardly any of these guys are humble. This guy managed to stay humble...after a win. That's prety good stuff if you ask me.

It's rare for the winner of a fight, to continue to attack his opponent afterwards,.. even Barrera tried to give his arch enemy Morales a cuddle after he defeated him, it's pretty easy to act nice in the midst of euphoric celebrations,...but it's no measure to assess ones real character during quieter times.

It didn't help,.. but I still have a valid point, Froch's moving outta England cause he doesn't want part of his revenue being spent on infanstructure, then flying back 'home' to rake more cash out of you all by waving the flag, 'the carrot', and illustrating his hideous narccistic personality to the rest of the world, while you all salute that as groupies, putting your hands on your hearts and saying,.. aaaaahh, he's one of us!, he's the pride of our land!...'ohhh danny booooy!':shit: ...you're proud of his representation as English people,...well,.. you deserve the burn when this hideous object of primitive arousal loses,.. and has a psycopathic bitch fit in the ring, on behalf of the greatness of your country.

As much as I hate to break this to you my friend; Froch isn't THAT popular here in the UK.

Most 'casual' fans think he's the mouthy, whiny guy who spent years insulting Joe Calzaghe. Most 'hardcore' fans only really began to appreciate him after the Taylor fight BUT even then it's for his heart and tenacity rather than his boxing 'skills'. If you just take the consensus of UK fans on this board, you'll find that most (if not all) of us think Froch is a brutal KTFO waiting to happen. IMHO, the wait ends when he fights Kessler next time up...

Froch is THAT unsupported that the Taylor fight wasn't shown by any network in the UK. This fight has been taken, at the last minute, by some obscure PPV Satellite broadcaster who I've never even heard of before this week.

    Sorry to upset you dude...

This is what I thought last time,.. and then when the fight with Taylor started,..I distinctively remembering several nervous british groupies moaning in agony during the first half of his fight with Taylor, then EXPLODING with unbridled patriotic delight during the 12th round for the Cyprus bound bloodsucker of eastern european descent,... :nono: ,...

Have you seen his post fight press conference? I've been to MANY of them, and his was probably the most gracious of any I've every seen.
