I’d have to go with Oscar, even though I hate him. Bigger, faster, and a better fighter. I think he KO’s Tszyu mid to late rounds.
I'd take Oscar. Zoo was hittable and didn't like it when he couldn't bully an opponent. I don't see Oscar doing what Phillips and Hatton did, but the power in his left hook would stop Zoo from being too aggressive, and eventually, I think the size and speed difference takes it toll. Oscar in the late rounds.
I’ll take the Oscar who beat Chavez the first time to stop Tszyu. He has the size, hand speed and the power, especially the left hook, to trouble Tszyu down the stretch.
Agreed with all. I think the only thing Tszyu might be able to do is time Oscar's jab and land a great right hand counter. Problem is at best he might score a knockdown. He won't be able to finish things with one shot and he's not going to land that punch with any consistency. Kostya's face would be welted up in the mid rounds after taking a lot of jabs and hooks. He's not the type to go for broke either so he'd keep getting peppered.
I disagree with JOM that it wouldn't be competitive. I feel that's either overrating Oscar or underrating Tszyu. I think Tszyu would have his moments given his timing and his right hand... Oscar couldn't really stop right hands. But yeah, I would expect Oscar to mostly stay in control, and eventually in the late rounds, Tszyu would walk into a check hook that puts him down. Oscar TKO 10.
Oscar was a beast at 140. His jab was snake like. I just see him tagging zoo with it over and over again
We agree about the ultimate outcome. I just don't see it as completely outsided. Tszyu was good enough to have his moments. But in the end, Tszyu is getting caught with the same type of check hook that stopped Vargas.
