    From ESPN:

No opponent has been selected for the May fight, but names under discussion include three junior welterweights, all of whom would give up considerable size to De La Hoya in a bout that would likely take place at about 150 pounds: Steve Forbes, reigning titleholder Paulie Malignaggi and Dmitriy Salita.

The good news is that they are looking to make the fight on free TV! That's the least he could do for the sport that made him hundreds of millions!

Salita is arguably the worst undefeated fighter in the sport. He's a complete and utter fraud.

oscar will fight salita. he's a club fighter with a shitty chin and shit experience. on top of that, the guy's been inactive.

while oscar should beat forbes and malignaggi, stylistically, they can make him look bad.

If DLH was half serious about being competitive against mayweather, he would fight malignaggi but its likely PPV sales in September will be the imperative so he'll pick a salita most likely to make him look good and to the non-boxing crowd, still relevant

This might be interesting if Oscar fought all three. Otherwise, no.

You think Paulie would have any more of a chance against Oscar? The dude is utter shit and yes he should be added to the list if for no other reason than he's about as much of a chance as any of the other guys.

NONE of those guys can do shit agains DLH...they will ALL get brutalize...

Salita will be brave and come forward...and will get brutalize....

Malignaggi? Can't punch...speed and defense isn't that great...what can he do against DLH? Other than RUN....and RUN....

Forbes is the most average of the 3..he has decent everything..power/speed/defense..but he still gets KO'ed by Pollo...

If he wanted to make a serious run he should at least look for a welterweight.

You think someone like Paul Williams would have a problem fighting quickly back-to-back if it meant a shot at facing DLH then Mayweather later in the year???

    Lest's make this happen boys!

If the Golden Cross Dresser had any pride, he would fight Miguel Cotto in May.

But since he's once again being a bitch, he'll take the easy way out and fight an opponent that has absolutely NO CHANCE at beating him, look good in wacking the stiff out, and then get his fans excited for the Mayweather fight.

Oscar needs to retire. He's finished.

Yeah, but Forbes beat Bojado and Hopkins which I think trumps anything those other guys have done including Paulies little 140lb trinket. However, I agree that he's too little and loses when he comes up in weight.

this being on hbo is bad news. it means it will dip into the hbo budget and means less real fights.

it also pushes mayweather cotto back to '09. I remember when mayweather whipped salitas ass. salita came into the ring for his upcoming fight with a freshly blackened eye.

How embarassing. DLH really needs to retire and stop subjecting boxing fans to this bullshit. Damitry Salita? Paulie? Forbes? Pathetic! If Oscar had any balls left he'd fight Forrest, or Cintron, or hell even Ouma! But these three choices are a disgrace!

De La Hoya should be fighting Miguel Cotto if he had any real pride or respect for himself.

I hope that the next time Oscar and Floyd meet that "Money" forces him to get out of boxing and stick to promoting.

Oscar proved he had no pride and respect for himself when he dressed like a hooker.
