Got a work in the morning so I'll catch the sunday evening replay.Alvarez vs Hansen should be good.
Good show and mad props to Caol Uno for pulling off the upset over Ishida.Uno will most likely fight Kawajiri next..Kawajiri was pissed at Uno,that should be a good scrap.Alverez vs Hansen lived up to the internet hype, that was a entertaining and close fight and they both showed alot of class after the fight.I wouldn't mind a rematch between those two.
I thought Dream was a decent event, but nowhere near as good as the Sherdog Pride Nuthuggers are making it out to be. Alvarez\Hansen was a great fight, and I've been saying all along that Alvarez is gonna win this thing, and finally people are starting to jump on the bandwagon. He dominated the 1st 5 minutes of the fight, won the 2nd 5, and while he probably lost the last 5, he showed some amazing submission defense, as Hansen had locked on some pretty nasty armbars, and Alvarez was able to roll out of them with little effort. Now what I didn't like about the event. First and foremost, I like MMA in a cage better then a ring, unless I'm actually in attendance. I just think the cage adds so much more, and there are no ridiculous restarts or people getting caught in the ropes. All things being equal, I'd rather watch a fight in a cage then a ring anytime. A lot of people feel the exact opposite, so it's just a personal preference. The intro's were far too long and corny. The show took forever, and that's partially because everyone had this long, drawn out, WWE intro. I know that's a Pride trademark, but I always thought it was pointless. The instant replays after the fights were terrible. Very choppy, jumping from one clip to another without giving the announcers (by the way, terrible job from Bas and Kenny, who are usally much better) time to explain what was going on. And the worst part of the night by far, is the crowd, who were just not into it at all. I know that is the Japanese custom, to sit quietly and watch, but man, does that kill the atmosphere or what? I absolutely hate it when two people are fighting with all they're worth, and the Japanese fans just sit there and don't make a sound. Overall, one great fight, a couple good fights, a few squashes and a few boring fights. But free MMA on HDNet, and getting to see my boy Eddie Alvarez fight, I'll take it every time. TFK
Yes, but I have yet to upgrade to a HD DVR receiver. I also have yet to allow Direct TV to bill me for HD channels. :: Until I suck it up and get full utilization out of my HD TV, I wish there was a standard definition option for HDNET.
.This is 2008 man.If you have the means to watch anything in High Def ,do it! Once you go high def trust me,you will never go back to standard vision unless your forced too.
