http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=14713 If this is true, that bum Duddy has a chance of actually picking up a belt. But he's so limited I'd have to favor Philips. Still I think he's better off at 154 anyway. He wouldnt beat Pavlik, or Abraham if those guys were on thier death beds.
At 154 I cant really see him beating anyone but Philips though. Forrest, Alcine, Santos would all beat him. Mora, and even Spinks would easily outbox him. Angulo, and Kirkland would fuck him up badly, though I'd love to watch those fights. I think Duddy vs Chavez Jr would be a pick em.
I actually hope that Duddy beats Philips. At least John is young, and marketable. Him winning a belt could set up a matchup for one of the young prospects to win thier first title, or it could be an oppertunity for Shane to pick up an easy belt. Duddy is so bad, that I think even Joel Julio would look like a killer against him.
agREED... though I also agree w/ X that Duddy's making a smart move by dropping down to 154. He's probably a shit fighter wherever he lands, but Sergio Mora showed last month how much easier it is to snag a belt at 154 than at 160.
Much as I despise Mora, he's obviously much better than Duddy. Theres really no top guy at 154 who I'd pick Duddy over, except MAYBE Chavez Jr, and even thats no guarantee. Duddy-Angulo sounds like a good B.A.D matchup in 09. Angulo will fuck up Fuddy badly!
is g. leon becoming the next shelly finkel? i guess the guy knows what he's doing. he just signed allan green.
He has been involved with fighters in an advisory role for years now with certain fighters. SteveDave should start a Yorgey bandwagon. I want in.
i'd rather see quartey vs. verno II. it would be awesome for quartey to go out w/ another title. 154 division sucks
I thought their first one was fun. Even though there were shennanigans that were overlooked and/or soon forgotten.
