Point Out some Instances where a Fighters Corner Gave him the WRONG Advice or BAD Information... For Instance, After Round 1 of Pavlik-Taylor, Manny Steward Told Jermain,"You lost that Round but it's O.K...You got him Fighting @ a FASTER Pace than he's Used To." :notallthere: :notallthere: It was as If Manny had NEVER Seen Pavlik Fight B 4... Uuuuh, Manny, Pavlik's a VOLUME Puncher which Means he Fights @ a BRISKER Pace than Most...A BRISKER Pace than Even Jermain Taylor is Used To... It AMAZED REED that a Guy w/Manny's KNOWLEDGE Could B Sooooooooo OFFBASE N Such an IMPORTANT Fight... List Some Other Examples/Instances of a Fighters Corner Giving him HEADSCRATCHING Advice or Information... REED
yea that was a good advice since forrest fought a much better fight the second time around w/ a different corner with a completely different startegy.
what did he do differently? he didnt get KOed in 3 rounds. that and it was a close fight. i thought he won actually. so did many others, but then again, you have a different scoring criteria than most people.. regardless, he kept his distance and avoided trading punches toe to toe. if he did, he would've gotten KOed again.
During Wright-Mosley 1 Shane tells Jack he feels like he has a monkey on his back. Jack's response: "Don't say that Shane." Totally dumb to try to just ignore the problem rather than find out what he was talking about so they could try to work through it.
Rocky 4 Rocky tells his corner he sees 3 of him out there. They tell him to hit the one in the middle. The correct answer is to stop the fight have the doctor check Rocky out, and then immediately send him to the hospital. Had the fight been stopped there, Rocky might not have developed the brain damage that eventually led to him getting his license revoked. Furthermore, he could have fought again and gotten himself out of the ghetto. Hit the one in the middle Rocky could have had a detached retina for all they knew.
what mosley said might have been referencing wright beating his ass. maybe he shouldnt have stiffed hudson!
Almost all of Steward's advice in the last decade. And that Rahman one is a classic :: WTF was he thinking?
The advice given to Tim Austin prior to him getting KTFO against Marquez..it could have ended differently
Jack Mosley to Shane during Mosley-DLH II... Jack: Throw that Roy Jones lefthook, Shane. Shane: I can't, he's too quick.
anyone else notice that more often than not, steward spends his time in the corner now simply making excuses rather than trying to help his fighter? for example, he kept telling harris that maussa was a, "rubber-man." and during the spinks fight, all he said was that they should've taken miranda on instead.
Winky and Nortons people telling them to throw away the last round vs Vargas and Ali respectively.Meldrick Taylors people telling him that he did need it, vs JCC.
