One more defeat how's he going to deal with the size of this man? I think Valero gets a lot of play because he was an exciting KO guy, who did he beat? He's Andy Ganigan with a lower level of comp
not sure who wins, but castillo would've gotten hit for sure and bled. valero beats everyone castillo beat imo.
I have and I also saw him fight Valero if you are already trying to play THAT card, you have shit to go on in the first place
Valero def had a better skill set than Ganigan. More speed as well. BUT..... Ganigan was a bigger puncher than Valero.
I can see giving the initial version of Valero that stormed onto the scene years back - when he didn't swing wildly with his chin hanging in the air - the benefit of the doubt in some of the MMs posted here. Not this one, though. Castillo by KO.
I think Valero's ability is largely misunderstood. Which is fine. It was his reponsibility to prove his ability, and he killed his wife and himself before he could do so. But my opinion is he was one of those fighters whose manner was awkward and who didn't necessarily do things by the book. But he was a very effective and technical boxer nontheless. Other fighters I put into this category, with not exactly pretty, but very effective and technical styles are: Monzon Vitali K. Antonio Esparragoza You can get all emotional and attack me for comparing a fighter as legendary as Monzon to Valero, who accomplished little by comparison. But if you did, you'd be missing the point. The point is, good fighters don't all fight alike. And effectiveness and technical ability doesn't always translate to aesthetically pleasing performances.
