I can not put into words how much this sucks.

I wish they could've at least hung on until the Nov. 8th show, because I wanted to see Eddie Alvarez\Nick Diaz in the worst way.

This is a sad day for MMA fans.

But they put on good fights. Anyone that isn't disappointed in not getting to see Lawler-Villasenor and Diaz-Alvarez for free, isn't an MMA fan.

I know Dana White has said he has no interest in Kimbo or promoting women's MMA. But with Slice and Gina Carrano now free agents, I wonder if he'll reconsider.

I know we'll see Lawler, Shields, Diaz, etc in the UFC but I want to see Gina again.

UFC can pick up the biggest women's fight in MMA history by just signing Carano and Cyborg after all the buildup Elite gave it. That would be a no brainer.

Kimbo may get signed but I bet they put him in tough and get him out of the business all together. Petruzelli should be cool too because they can bring him in and bounce him off of the canvas too.

You know, I can't really feel bad. Sure we will miss out on a couple of good fights, but this is what Elitexc gets for feeding us garbage and having a bafoon like Kimbo headline shows. For the most part, they are an org built on Kimbo Slice. If you didn't see this coming you must be blind.

When will these people learn, you don't build a successful MMA Org overnight. Everyone wants to be big like the UFC and they think they can do it in only a few shows. They are fucking crazy. The UFC has been around since the early 90's and they lost millions of dollars on their way up and only became a success in the last few years.

Oh well, Kimbo can go back to being the toughest guy in his backyard. In all of this, I do feel bad for Gina Carano and Cyborg. Where do they even have women's MMA anymore? Where can they go? The top guys in Elite can all go to another org, not sure the women can find a new home.

The UFC must sign Eddie Alvarez to fill the void at 155 now that BJ Penn is moving up. Fights with Tyson Griffin and Frankie Edgar would be match of the year candidates.

They must also sign Jake Shields to face the winner of Penn\GSP.

And they have to bring Wilson Reis into the WEC to fight Uriah Faber. That would be a GREAT fight.

I'm trying to put a positive spin on what is a crappy situation. Seeing those fights would really help accomplish that.

I read that Sheilds will go to the UFC. I seriously doubt he would get a title shot right away though. They would probably make him fight a Karo Parisyan caliber guy first to see where he is at.

Diaz and Alvarez should both be swooped up and they should just keep that fight and add it to an upcoming UFC.

Awfull, the CBS card were very good for free MMA, personnaly I liked them better than the average UFC fight nights, and the next card on Showtime was stacked. I am quite surprised to see them fold, sure they were losing money, but the deal on CBS had a lot of potential future earnings, I heard that Showtime was interrested in buying it before the Pertuzelli fight fixing allegation scandal. Good move retard, instead of potentially earning a six figure payday for your next fight, you will have to go back shaking smoothie

22 seconds with a cool flying knee. Nevertheless, it was a nice match up for free TV...

Im not defending anything. Im stating the obvious. Kimbo is the biggest star in MMA. Ask anybody who Kimbo is and they will tell you. Ask anybody who Lidell, Randy ect are and they probably won't know aka Kimbo is a big star.

No, not even close dude. I'm sure you'd love to think that but no fucking way is Kimbo a bigger star than Chuck or Randy. Not a chance.

Kimbo will be back to backyard brawlin' in no time! Some of his streetfighting videos were quite good. What Kimbo needs to do is get his own reality show. Where he goes around to peoples' backyards looking for fights. Tell me that wouldn't be one badass f*cking reality show!!!!

Kimbo's exposure on Youtube and CBS may make him arguably the most widely known MMA fighter, but he is clearly not MMA's biggest star. Even before his loss, Kimbo did not have the star power to headline PPV's.

    Well, Well, Well...

After the DISASTER of Shamrock Pulling Out,then Kimbo Getting KNOCKEDthefuckOUT, REED Can't say that he's Surprised to Hear this...

But like Others have Said, the Lawler-Villasenor & Diaz-Alvarez Fights would've Been GREAT....

Honestly, ALL these Organizations just Need to Give in to UFC/WEC...Affliction's NEXT to Bite the Dust...UFC is The ONLY Reputable MMA Company...Everybody Else Seems to B on Borrowed Time...

If Dana White's SMART, he'll Sign Kimbo, Feed him Some CANS, then Match him Up w/Brock Lesnar...That'd B THE HIGHEST Selling MMA PPV Ever, N REED's Opinion...

Sure, the PURISTS would Frown Upon it, but the "Freakshow" Factor CAN'T B Underestimated when it Comes to SALES...

Oh man, that fucking sucks. EliteXC was actually pretty good, kimbo or no kimbo.

How did that happen? How did they get so heavily in debt? I assume they were paying their fighters fuck all like the UFC, so?

I agree, no fucking way is kimbo the biggest "star". Most well known perhaps, but kimbo is a good example of that not making you a star.

Being a star is about putting arses in seats, and generating revenue.

One of the things I appreciate most about the UFC is the fact they don't nurture or coddle anyone. They throw guys right in with good opponents.

Hell, look at Lesnar. He would clearly have benefited from getting a couple Tank Abbotts or Ray Mercers to start his MMA career. Instead he got Frank Mir and Heath Herring.

Dana White have a helluva product. He got the reality show on Spike TV (A great reality show, with a good format and high ratings) and the UFC name. The fact of the matter is that UFC sells as a brand, they don't sell names. It's like WWE already. You see TNA trying to stay afloat and survive, not because they have lesser wrestler, but because they're struggling to become a household name. That's why Vince bought WCW, because it was already a household name that could've been a live contender if anybody else kept it alive and knew how to run the show. You can't just throw big money at those athletes and expect to win the race. They went too big too fast. This is not boxing. Gary Shaw never understood that shit and that's why they fell apart.

Even the cans would rape Kimbo's glass-chinned old ass. We all know Kimbo was a sideshow to begin with and I already called it way in advance that Kimbo's hype would be killed quickly.
We need to eliminate Kimbo's name from any kind of mma discussion. He's a non-factor now. Bas Rutten got everything he could out of the guy, made some nice coin on the way.

Vince McMahons ratings sure are suffering now. They're making money but their ratings are so bad now that even USA Network is trying to give them scripts for their shows in order to up the ratings. This past monday, they hit a new low. Scary low!
When WCW died, a lot of the fans went with it. The same fans who used to flick back and forth to Raw and Nitro when the monday night wars were red hot and both companies were thriving.
As for MMA, somebody else will come along as they always do and compete with the UFC. And it will be somebody who knows what they're doing. MMA is a young sport. Don't think for a second that the UFC will continue to run the sport forever. It's an established brand but another competitor will come along and do things the right way. Thus far, everybody who comes along is only doing so to make a quick buck which is why they're dying so young rather than trying to work from the ground up. They're trying to start at the top. Elite XC was a joke to begin with, destined for failure.
