Ryan, Tank, Haney, Loma, Shakur...best hurry it up because in 2-3 years Emiliano is coming for them all if they still at Lightweight..
Physically talented enough that hes worth keeping an eye on. We'll have to worry about him having his old man's chin and tendency to fade late in big fights.
Nice left hook. He seems to have a nice left hook. Something his old man never had. Kind of early to tell how good he could be as the guy he fought was a total bum but ok lets wait and see.
Great shot, looks like he has some promise. On a side note I always feel a bit uneasy when a guy catches his neck on the bottom rope like that.
He has potential. Hopefully they don't do him dirty like his dad by pushing him to fight elite fighters at such a young age that could end up ruining him.
I said on a previous thread, I don't think Nando was thrown to the wolves. He got the most out of his potential IMO. If he wasn't ready for the elite guys, he would have gotten brutally exposed by Wright and Quartey, but he didn't. He couldn't beat Trinidad simply because Tito was too good, not because Nando wasn't ready.
I think the Wright fight did expose some flaws in Vargas and it was a very hard fight for him, many still think Wright should have won that fight. The Quartey fight did help his standing though. The Trinidad fight was something that was going to be unavoidable for Vargas no matter what. Trinidad was just too good and too much of a wrecking machine even for Vargas to handle.
I had Wright-Vargas a draw. Wright started strong, but Nando rallied down the stretch. Winky Wright wasn't exactly Hagler in the stamina department. He was a fader. I have no problem with people who scored it for Wright, but the narrative goes that Wright was robbed, which just isn't true. Wright WAS robbed against Jermain Taylor, but not against Vargas.
The way he threw that punch, he didn't turn it over and throw it like a left hook. He punched back across his body like a straight left hand.
He wasn't in a "southpaw stance" when he threw that punch, but he did throw it like a southpaw straight left.
