From Steve Kim: Here's what the return of 'Friday Night Fights' on ESPN2 looks like early on. December 28th: Dominick Guinn vs. TBA (Alonzo Butler has a detached retina.) Jan. 4th: Allan Green-Rubin Williams Jan. 11th: Edison Miranda / Jean Pascal Jan. 18th: Tarvis Simms-Ray Joval and Randall Bailey-Sven Paris Feb. 1st: Monte Meza Clay-Erik Aiken Feb. 8th: Darnell Wilson- TBA Feb. 15th: Delvin Rodriguez-Marvin Cordova Feb. 22nd: TBA March 7th: Thomas Mashaba-TBA (Of course, this being boxing, this schedule is subject to change.)
They're not fighting each other on that card. They'll be in seperate bouts, but plan to fight later in 2008. Of course, given they both win their upcoming bouts. Pascal fights tomorrow too.
I should see Dominick tomorrow morning as I am going to Savannah's to talk to Juan Diaz, and I'll ask him if he knows who he is going to be fighting on the 28th.
You are one of the several anonymous "heroes" here that like to stir up trouble whenever I post in a thread, any thread dosen't matter what the topic is. You don't have to watch him fight on ESPN2 on the 28th, but lots of people will. Speak for yourself when you coin the term "nobody."
I made more this year than you made in the past two years combined. I'm not a 47 year old who works as a part-time bouncer on the weekends to make ends meet. Guys like you are exemplify the terms "has-been" and "hangers-on" I don't live vicariously through an internet radio show who makes empty threats. Each of those statements are not only true, but a testament to your sad lot in life. If I'm a "nobody" because I feel an underachiever such as Guinn isn't worthy of a TV spot and would rather see another fighter get a chance...I REALLY don't know what label is applicable to you. If I were you, I'd score two cyanide tablets, pick up a new Bic razor, run a hot bath and end it all. signed - anonymous. :tease:
You are a nobody, and you know it, and I know it bro. You don't even have the stones to post your real name here, but that is your choice if you lack the balls to do so. I would really like to see you back up your boasts in the ring since you claim to be a fighter and trainer. All of the current and former fighters and trainers I know will, what's with you?
Not for nothing, Guinn-Butler had 10 round waltz all over it, but at least served its purpose. Butler's undefeated but severely untested - his resume is absolute shit. Even today's Guinn is a major step up. But Guinn-TBA to begin your season? Unless TBA is another undefeated (or rising) prospect, I don't see why Dominick needs to headline any more televised cards. He's an extremely nice guy, and I wish more came of his career than has been the case - but for all intent and purposes, even he doesn't like watching his own fights.
Wow! What a provocative post from a cat that I thought I was cool with that tried to sabotage my involvement in the fightbeat radio show here few weeks back. As I stated before bro, you really need to stick to your own site, and that site isn't fightbeat.
A provocative post? Tried to what? Until a mod grants your wish and kicks my ass off of this site, all I have to say to you is, get over yourself.
you have no objectivity. you slandered manny pacquaio claiming some amateur would knock him out. then you slandered world champions chad dawson and edwin valero. yet since you have met guinn he gets a pass?? he is possibly the most boring heavyweight in the entire division. on top of that he is possibly the laziest fighter in modern times.
You really are a paranoid prick. Jake did no such thing. If anything I was the one who had the unkind things to say about you on the show. Jake made a comment, which was an obvious joke that no one took seriously except for the insecure resident weasel on the board.
Jake is welcomed with open Arms on this site. He has helped build this site from the ground up. Lets show him the Respect that he deserves and has earned okay?
HOW CAN YOU HAVE A FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS WITH NO EMMANUEL AUGUSTUS-BURTON MATCHUP IN SITE, VERY DISSAPOINTED :nono:
That's not a bad replacement at all. I haven't seen Estrada since the Travis Walker fight, and judging from recent fights he's been coming in much better shape since that loss. Had a good result against a decent trial horse in Robert Hawkins...Guinn is a decent step up from that.
