Just seen this on the BBC. Complete nonsense. Think I'd rather watch the two senile old timers fight again instead.

It's a stupid move for Conor, as he's still a developing fighter. Eubank Junior sucks, but he is seasoned, and he's a bigger man.

Yeah, but it'll do biggly numbers over here and earn him an absolute shit-ton of cash. They'll wheel the senile old farts out, giving it all the big licks about 'sons of legends', 'family' and 'legacy' and all the usual shit, which the Sweet Caroline mongos will lap up.

    Fucking nonsense, the whole thing.

Can't see the problem with it mtf

Its a huge fight there like you said

If benn can win he becomes a lucrative opponent for the spence Crawford winner

He has no real hope of winning a welterweight title vs the top guys in that division

Benn has no business fighting Eubanks Jr. One is a 147lb-er and the other a 168lb-er. Neither is especially famous here and neither is especially good. At least with Benn you could see some improvement and figured he might feature in some meaningful fights somewhere down the line. Eubanks Jr is already a proven busted flush.

They are fighting simply because of who their old men are, in a non-title fight at fuck knows what weight. I get that it will make them a ton of money but in the same way that YouTubers fighting MMA-ists does. It is a Fast Eddie special: two people who have no real business being in the ring together are fighting because it will create a lucrative 'event'.

    No thanks.

Well don't watch then I guess.

I'll try to stream it. If it's at 154 then I'd take it if I was benns camp.

He's shown some improvement but seems a long way off from wanting ennis, ortiz or even stanionis

Last I heard him speak after a fight he was calling out broner so this isn't any worse of a sham than that fight woulda been

I think Benn Jr is a bust, he's not officer material so he may as well cash out in this manner, he'll be waiting a while for a paper title holder that he can beat

I just knew they would do something like that. A WW against a SMW. Can't say I'm overly excited.

Why even call it Eubanks vs Benn 3 if these 2 have technically never fought each other before? They're seriously just riding off the coattails of their fathers.

Yeah, at first I thought it was a good matchup as Connor is an interesting prospect and Eubank a legit world class fighter (he s not p4p or anything but he gets way too much hate in here). But the weight difference make the whole thing close to a pointless money grab. Too many easy excuses to be had for either in case of a loss.

Agree with feebs. Both will make big bucks but makes no sense to make apart from that.

Benn calling out Boner and taking this fight tells me everything I need to know about him. He's not in it to prove himself or for legacy.

Ultimately, it's "Prize Fighting" @ This Level...

Eubank NOR Benn Will Be What Their Fathers Were, But They've Carved RESPECTABLE Niches for Themselves in Modern Day Boxing, Nonetheless...Fun, Meaningless Fight That WON'T Mean Shit in the Grand Scheme of Boxing Things...The EVENT Itself Will Be Productive and GOOD for Boxing Though...

His dad was never the biggest. Legs like a sparrow and feet like a pigeon. He built himself up but he was the very definition of a blown up 168lbr and was NOT a big middleweight either, he got by on ferocity and scarcity of good big opposition. Today he'd be a big bad 154lbr.

The upside of these fights is that they're massive clouty events featuring loads of wideboys in their best clobber with their birds and bling. The downside is that they're so clouty that the clout lost sometimes negatives the incentive to make the fight.

I guess we'll have to settle for some weapon-grade social media bullshit now.

I still don't care about this matchup this weekend. They should not be fighting each other. Benn is like a small boy compared to Euwank jr. Junior should handle Benn pretty comfortably and may well chin him by the mid rounds. Benn is used to going forward and having it all his own way up to now. When he's forced backwards and put under pressure, he struggles. Euwank junior by KO.

eubanks sr says hes boycotting the fight cuz the weight is putting his son in a precarious situation.

its odd he allowed his kid to end up boxing after how sour he's always been toward the sport.

Eubanks sr is a troubled narcissist and attention seeker - with all of the attention around the fight, it was predictable that he would throw himself into the spotlight
