Montel Vontavious Porter was the one who challenged Matt Hardy to a Boxing Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but it will not be the United States Champion who laces up the gloves against Hardy at Madison Square Garden. Instead, MVP has found a more than suitable replacement: boxing legend Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield. http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=20024
Holyfield is going to knock him down in the first round and then the fight is getting broken up by interference is what I read.
This fight already happened this past Monday during taping for Raw. It's being shown taped on Saturday night as if it's live. Holyfield knocked down Hardy and then knocked down MVP and there was a scuffle resulting in a no contest or whatever. Some videos on Youtube have already surfaced showing a bit of it.
I thought that was pretty shitty of BoxingTalk to post that. Of course everyone knows "pro" wrestling is fake, but still. I guess it's their way of trying to solicit sponsorship from Vince McMahon.
There's a difference between reporting that Holyfield will appear via tape-delay on an upcoming WWE show, and leaking out the result.
Come on Jake, it's not like you expected Holyfield to participate in a ladder match and do a moonsault off the top of the ladder through a table or anything.:: We all know that anytime a celebrity/athlete is involved in pro wrestling, it's usually lame and silly. By the way, it was StingerKarl who leaked the result on this board first. Ban him!!!!
Would you ever say no if all you have to do is show up, pretend to box for about 2 minutes and pick up a cheque of $500,000 and be on your way? You need to display some more intelligence on this stuff Reed. Not everything that boxers do outside of boxing is a case of "being in desperate need of money."
