thats the most angry ive ever seen margarito. i also liked what miguel had to say about dying in the ring is stupid because he has kids and a family to look after, although i know most on here dont agree.

this time cotto should get the win, margarito's recent form, health and little activity should allow cotto to get revenge

I'll pick Margarito every time to beat Cotto. He's too relentless. I agree with Cotto on saying that dying in the ring is stupid. I laughed also when Vargas said that a few years ago. What's with these mexicans and their death wish fantasy.

Cotto is so much more intelligent then Margarito who really is outwearing this macho Mexican thing (He was born in the U.S. btw). I loved when Miguel smiled at the thought that Tony would allow himself die in the ring. Also it was funny when Max said about Tony, "this man is not normal"..lol..
I must say his eye looked a bit better but I have a feeling his vision is impared and that the orbit can bruise or break quickly, just his skin healed well around the area..that's all. I can't freakin wait for this fight. The Garden will be packed with Cotto fans going bananas. I want revenge on the cheater...GS

I thought Margarito's reaction sort of proved himself to be guilty. Cotto has grown on me. He has a pretty decent intelligence for a fighter. I love how he clowned Margarito for wanting to die in the ring. I hate Margarito. Still, I predicted he would win the first fight in exactly the fashion he did. Cotto is not very durable for a fighter with an average defense. Hopefully, Margarito's recent beatings have taken their toll. Otherwise, as usual, the nice guy will finish last.

He was guilty anyway, but yeah - you could tell by his reaction and the way he got riled, and the hint of desperation in his voice that his gloves were indeed loaded against Cotto.

I just hope Cotto does have more left than Plasterito.

I've always liked Cotto too. A bit on the boring side for a boxer, not much to say, but seems like a fairly nice/likeable chap.

I am not going to beat a dead horse (at least not too fervently), but I have trouble stopping myself from hating Tony Margarito. The guy does not deserve what he has, he "earned" his place by cheating, and he is stupid. He made his money off the backs of truly good fighters, by loading his gloves and fucking them over with that shitfaced grin on his face the whole time.

His one year suspension for the Mosley incident still stings, frankly. I think he even fought in Mexico in the interim. So essentially this cheat suffered no penalty for his conscience-less sandblasting of decent men trying to make a living in boxing without cheating.

He should have been banned for life. He is lucky Cotto did not suffer any apparent permanent injuries from their fight (although I think it did hurt Cotto in many ways), as now with Cotto healthy and out for revenge this washed-up Mexicanito cheat gets the limelight again.

I hope Cotto knows what he is doing. I fully support him beating the shit out of Margarito, but if he is not sharp in training, and if Marg appears to have something left in the tank, Cotto should have avoided this fight. Hopefully they are aware of Margarito's current state... and I do believe the beatings have taken their toll... so we will see. But if Cotto sustains another beating, it will be such an injustice it will be difficult to watch.

Please, powers that be, I implore you to restore the balance here on Earth and allow karma to be fulfilled in this fight. A savage, extended beating by Cotto, with Marg in the corner caught on tape desperately pleading with his trainer "Isn't there some way to load my gloves again?! Like the last time?!?"

I wish somebody would put Tommy Hearns in a time machine back to 83, and put him in the ring with that grinning piece of shit.

BTW - it is trouble that Cotto has the mentality to quit when his health is in danger. Well, its sensible from a human stand point, but its troubling from a boxing stand point. Thats one of the main reasons the grinning POS will beat him down again.

I would HOPE for Miggy's reputation sake that he wouldnt quit against a Mexican at the GARDEN.

He'd forever lose all respect in PR.

^^^^I question if Phony has the punch resistance he used to have.

In recent years, he's take much worse punishment than Cotto.

I can't imagine he has that much left.

I agree X but I would prefer putting that dirty bastard against a PRIME TITO! That would have been a delightful slaughter.

I hear Vanes would be the replacement. If so, I'm all for it.

Miggy would slaughter that rat faced, greasy bitch and I'd enjoy every moment.

Don't worry though, the fight will happen. The Bobfather will make the necessary pay off, and everything will be fine.

Gotta love Margaritos new hair style. Did he tell his stylist "make me look like Pacquiao"?

The bolded part is incorrect. He served the one-year suspension, attempted to get his license reinstated and was denied in Texas. That's when he decided to fight in Mexico, a stay-busy fight something like 16-17 months after the Shane fight.

I'm not applauding the fact that Margarito is getting paydays - but this is the fight that Cotto wanted, and I don't blame him. He'll most likely never beat Pac (and certainly won't get him to move all the way up to 154), so he instead decides to attempt to avenge his first loss.

That's how I view December 3 - that and it's a great card from top to bottom

I don't like the fight because it would be horrible if Plasterito won again, without wraps this time.

If Margarito beats Cotto without his illegal wraps, then credit must be given where credit is due. I won't like it a bit, I tell ya. But I'd accept it.

That said, I have confidence that Cotto will make some adjustments in this fight to win a 12 round UD.... If Margarito indeed loaded his gloves against Cotto(And I believe he did), then his punches won't have the same effect this time around.

Also, I really think Phony has lost the fire. I saw him against some bum that he fought against before he took on Pacquiao and he looked HORRIBLE... Since that he got got thrashed by Pacman and has sat out with a fractured orbital bone, while Cotto has been recharging himself.

I think the circumstances are perfect for Cotto to win this time.

It'll be a controversial fight. I actually thought Margarito was effective early in the first fight although that is the minority opinion.

I have no idea who wins this fight. Too many variables. I will say this though, after watching the face-off, Margarito convinced me more in terms of having confidence in repeating a win over Cotto.

It's really hard to stress enough the importance of Cotto coming out with the right game plan...So far he's proven to be a dumb fighter, probably because he usually has a dumb corner.

Agreed, it's pretty annoying you're not training him tbh, I would be far more confident of a Cotto win.

Agreed...or the Julian Jackson of the late 80s, or Tito in 2000.

He was. Margarito probably only won 1 of the first 6 rounds, but he still managed to bloody Cotto's nose in round 2 and do some good bodywork before taking over in the 7th. He was putting all kinds of pressure on Cotto and was being effective, even if he was losing rounds.

watching the faceoff I got the feeling that Cotto is ready to quit again. Him arguing that Margarito is stupid for being willing to die in the ring just tells me when the going gets tough again he will fold.

His opinion makes sense but is not what you say across your oponent or to the fans when your promoting the fight.

I think it will play out like the first fight. Cotto winning some early rounds and eventually will be gassed and Margarito will take him out.
