Pretty shit movie. Watched it with my kid who nearly had a mental breakdown watching it because this is her favorite book and she thought they shit all over Ray Bradbury's grave with it. Source material aside, it's pretty shit either way. Huge disappointment considering the cast.

    4/10

My thoughts exactly when I saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully they will leave The Martian Chronicles alone.

So that old movie Equalibrium is based on the Fahrenheit novel? Because that trailer looks like an Equalibrium remake.

Equilibrium certainly inspired by Fahrenheit 451. It was a much better movie to.

Any of you young-lings ever watched the Francois Truffaut original from 1966 with Julie Christie & Oscar Werner? Very good film made on a string budget.

I saw that and figured it was just a bunch of book nerds like my kid, who didn't think it was a faithful retelling of the book. Turns out it was shit whether you read the book or not.

It was just a lazy movie. Zero tension, clumsy editing, convoluted plotlines that didn't make any logical sense. Michael B. looked lost the entire movie. No charisma............but he wasn't given much to work with. Michael Shannon tried his damndest to drag the movie into relevance, but all he could really do was make his own character watchable.

My cousin in law is an extra evil fireman in this movie, and he's a fireman in real life.
