Tito had just about everything over Palimino, except for chin. But I dont think Palimino was a big enough puncher to win a fire fight with Tito. Carlos had a helluva chin, but was very hittable. I actually see Tito scoring a late TKO.
Palomino was very good, and I think his good body punching will help him give Trinidad a tough night, but as said above he was very hittable and he wasn't an overpowering, extremely strong welterweight. YOu either jab and move against Tito (in which case you shut him out, because he was totally one-dimensional) or you better be an exceptionally strong pressure fighter with a tungsten chin (think someone like Carmen Basilio at 147, or Dick Tiger at 160) Palomino fights with courage and wins his share of rounds but he takes a lot of brutal left hooks and is stopped late, or hurt often enough down the stretch to make this a clear cut decision for Trinidad
^^^^Agree with everything you said but I would argue that alot of fighters have trouble when you show movement. Lets also remember that prime Hopkins and prime Oscar at their respective weights could also bang decently enough to keep Trinidad respectful along with good movement, fast hands, or counterpunching skills.(I don't count Winky Wright too much because Tito was off over 2 years and wasn't in a real fight for about 3 years prior to that). I say Trinidad wins a decision in this one possible late stoppage on cuts. Would have been a good one, though.
