Fernando also has a glass chin! Mayorga can still take a pretty good hit. The only way I cn see Fernando winning the fight is by making it a stink fest. I cant see him doing this for 12 rounds.

Both of these fighters were hugely flawed in their primes, and they are both now so shot I expect both to enter the ring sporting multiple bullet-wounds :shit:

Mayorga's chin isn't as gone as it appeared against Oscar. In that fight, De La Hoya's hand speed coupled with the fact that Mayorga's heart just didn't appear that in it, is what really got Mayorga out of there. Oscar hit him no harder than Tito did.


But at this point, Vargas can't really take much of anything. His heart is DEFINITELY not into it. He's here to just cash out one last big pay day and maybe provide a thrill. But when it comes down to it, I see Mayorga as the hungrier of the two here and that will make a significant difference once Vargas gets hit hard on the chin.

 

Being Flawed is what makes this fight fun to watch. What would you prefer a fighter that pot shots and makes a fight a stink fest or have 2 flawed warriors beating the shit out of each other?

 

You gotta love the irony in the weigh-in for this fight taking place on Thanksgiving Day (though I'm sure those there to cover it will see it as an inconvenience more than anything else). If they're allowed within 5 feet of each other, a perfect photo-op would have them fighting over a wishbone.

 

I dunno- I guess I'd prefer to watch two prime fighters going at it for titles/glory/accolades etc. Do these fights happen anymore? :dunno:

The thing is though Hex, I can't see these 'flawed warriors' beating the shit out of anything, let alone each other. I can watch such a fight (I found Bika Coddrington recently an exciting example of such a match), but I expect two shot guys to go the distance.

this is where I'm at as well, especially with the fight taking place at 166.

Cintron-Feliciano should be fun for as long as it lasts. Jesse's a bit better at 147 than he was when trying to make 140. Kermit should ultimately stretch him, but if there's a fight on the card that should guarantee explosions, it's this one. I guess the Shitzau fight as well, given his all offense-style, shitty chin and complete disregard for defense.
