FightBeat Prediction League. End of Round Five - Results and standings...

Wow.

In terms of points scored this week it has been like the twilight zone you could say, the top is at the bottom and the bottom is at the top! The biggest point scoring fight for everyone was the main event, with only two posters picking that one incorrectly.

First off, predictor of the round quite clearly has to go to barneyboy2001, who was making his FL debut this round, and predicted the correct winner in every fight, one of only two people to do so this round, he also picked the Arreola fight bang on, and was the top scorer for this round with 35 points! Which means he is also now the record-holder for most points scored by a debutant! :bears::bears:

Beginners luck? Title contender? It all remains to be seen! However, it is a marathon and not a sprint, there is a looong way to go!

Honourable mentions also go to Salaco for being the only other person to predict the correct winner in every fight, Matchup_Analyzer for being the other person to predict the Arreola fight 100% and mexican wedding shirt for getting the Nashiro fight spot on as well!

However, the biggest surprise has to be the performance of our leader for four rounds - *Z*. He looked to be running away with it and had a comfortable 18 point lead over Salaco in 2nd place, whilst also holding a record of 20 points or more scored in each round. However *Z* decided to go out on a limb this week as he refused to pick against Winky and hates Arreola. The risk, if it came off, would have put him a country mile ahead, if it failed, well, good news for the rest of us! Unfortunately for *Z*, the gamble didn't pay off, as he obtained just a measly 6 points and is our LOWEST scorer for this round! Salaco took full advantage with his predictions this round and for the first time since the start of the league we have a NEW LEADER in bold at the top! Congratulations Salaco! Perseverence pays off! However I am sure we will all agree that he has won nothing yet, he should be expecting a backlash from *Z* next round, and also has to worry about the chasing pack such as Pagan, whiskey and Matchup_Analyzer who all crossed the 100 point mark this round. Life's tough at the top!!

No one managed to hit the Five Fight Slam bonus this week, remember, if someone gets that it could propell them from mid-table to top spot in one round, or secure you the title if you're already at the top! It's all up for grabs!

So there it is! Congrats again to Salaco who knocked *Z* off his perch this round, and to barneyboy2001 who was highest scorer this round. Will *Z* hit back straight away? Was barneyboy2001 just flukey? Will someone else come out of nowhere to steal the title? It all remains to be seen, but it's suddenly got very interesting!

adamiw didn't post this week, but is still in with a chance if he gets a Five Fight Slam, so hopefully we will see adam posting next round!

Wouldn't worry too much mate, Mexican Wedding Shirt and Matchup_Analyzer both missed out a round each but they are still in title contention, just get good scores in round 6

 

I think my pick of Williams UD was better than everyone else who made the same pick and i just should get more points. :bears:
