Well well, very interesting so far, it seemed the Abraham fight saved alot of people from getting 0 points. Also seemed like the random fight, Canchila Vs Segura, generated quite a few points for some, who were brave enough to go for Segura to avenge his previous defeat, which he did in some fashion according to reports. As I said in the prediction thread itself, the Khan fight finished by a technical UNANIMOUS decision, so anyone who predicted a Khan UD gets the full 10 points. Some might say that's not fair, but it goes down as a points win on Khans record, so it will go down as a points win on here.

Prediction of the round has to go to REEDsART who correctly predicted Afolabi to win, the only person in the league to do so, whats more he was only ONE ROUND off getting a perfect 10 score for that. So congrats to Reed. BoxFan as well gets a mention for being the only person to predict a Martinez win, Martinez looked a decent fighter as well.

As for the table, congratulations to *Z* who tops the standings by one point after round one. Honourable mention to Salaco who is second, and correctly had Segura by KO. It looks like there already is a leading pack right now, and the rest of us need to try and score big in round 2 to try and stay close! Round 2 Prediction thread will be up either tonight or tomorrow, stay tuned.

Honestly I think a TD cuts stoppage is too different from a UD, I think give 6 points for that, not a full 10.

I can see your point to be fair, as it's only the first round theres a long way to go so I'll let it stand, I might change the rules for the next round so it accomodates TD's etc, maybe make draws worth 20 points as well. Let me know if you want to see these or other things come into play, I'm open to suggestions.

MWS just don't want to rate Khan's victory, it has nothing to do with the competition:lol:

Nah not at all, honestly even if I predicted a Khan UD, I would still argue against being awarded 10 points.

It's simply not the same thing. It's a cuts stoppage, regardless that it ends up as a TD. For example, if it had been a round or 2 earlier, it would have been a NC.

And yes I do think a draw should gain the highest points, obviously bookies give the best odds on draws and rightly so, because draws are pretty rare.

I think the draw = 20 points rule will come into play in the next round, however with TD's lets be honest, no one is going to predict a TD, just like no one is likely to predict a No Contest. It's not even likely there's going to be another TD for the rest of the league (although i have probably jinxed myself now by saying that ). It's down to an exceptional set of circumstances which just happened to come into play last night. I personally predicted a Khan KO win and missed out on 3 points because it went to a TD when I thought Khan was well on his way to a late stoppage anyway. As with controversial robbery type decisions, I think the best way to go is via the official decision, which is a UD and thats how it will go on Khans record. I can see your point though, but these things should even themselves out over the upcoming 12 weeks though. I mean if this league had been going on during the Hatton Malignaggi fight, people who had predicted a Hatton UD would be pissed off the same way

It was a terrible week of prediction to be sure to be sure. 1/5.

However, look at the other scores, 3 is the most common score.

It was one of those freaky night of the underdog nights.

Not surprising. You and Matchup_Analyzer seem to dominate these competitions for as long as the run.
