Ok so here's how this is gonna work. In some ways I think people should be awarded for picking underdogs, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to see someone gets credit for going 1-4 and earning more points than someone who got 3-4 just because some longshot won. Each week, we will be picking the major fight/fights. You are to submit your picks by the night before. So, you will be awarded points based on the following: The options will be picking either fighter by KO or decision. In the case of a draw, partial points will be awarded to those who thought the fight would go to decision. So for example, regarding last week's fight. Had you picked Vasquez by decision you would be awarded 10 points. For a Vasquez by KO pick you would be awarded 5 points. Had the fight been scored a draw, those who picked either fighter by decision would be awarded 5 points. If that is unclear, please PM me with questions. Since this is the first week, we shall run the contest until June 30th. For this Saturday there are two fights to predict. Nate Campbell vs. Juan Diaz Oleg Maskaev vs. Samuel Peter David Haye vs. Enzo Maccarenelli
I dont like the whole points thing. Now that youve got the draw consensus thing, what happens when a fighter gets robbed, do the people who picked the fighter who was robbed get any points? It would be alot easier and fairer imo if you just went by the official result. I think it would also be better if for example from the past weekend: I pick Vazquez DEC and Silvia DEC. That would make my record 2-0 (1 KO) 2 Correct picks, plus a KO for the correct method in the Vazquez fight. Seems alot easier to me then points.
the issue of a draw was somehthing that I weighed. I'm going by the official result, but rather than have people picking draw or varying betwen close and clear decisions (UD vs. MD or SD) I figured giving points for thinking it would go the distance is more fair. Robberies happen, and you have to go by the official result. So this seems to be fair. As for picks: Diaz by KO Peter by KO Haye by decision
Personally, I think getting the right fighter is the most important part of picking a fight. I would have done something like 700 for getting the fighter right, 300 more points if you picked the correct outcome, and if you want to do the draw thing...100 points if you picked decision and it was a draw... . Diaz ko Peter ko Macc ko I hope I am wrong on the first two, though.
Cheers Jaws- you pick two fights in the States on the same night that Haye fights Enzo? I sense a little bias here (and I'm also pissed because there is no-one showing the Peter-Oleg card here) Anyway Diaz by DEC Peter by DEC
Good point my man I completely forgot about the Haye-Enzo fight, it should be added to the list, it will be the most interesting fight of the night. Enzo KO6
Hey, I thought I deserved credit for not calling you a moron or other such abusive word. It was hard, but I feel better for not doing it. ::
Uh, excuse me but this is some bullshit. I have hard enough time remembering to get my picks in, let alone revisiting the God damn thread twice :nono: Let's make it a rule whatever you list, that list doesn't change mk? Haye UD
The WBC cruiserweight eliminator between undefeated Rudolf Kraj and Matt Godfrey is a very interesting (true pickem) fight, unfortunately the bloody German TV station will rather show two female mismatches, which will end in controversial decisions as usual. :shit: :shit: People always complain about German decisions, but until you have witnessed women´s boxing here you know nothing, in 7-8 years a German woman has lost exactly one fight by (split) decision, that was a 9-1 ass-whipping. ::
