Fighter's heights

I was wondering how real a lot of fighters heights are.

Can Karl or Jake, or anyone else that's met a fair few fighters shed some light?

I tell you what got me thinking a lot of them might be exaggerated.

I measured my reach with the new arm length way of doing it. My reach is 26.5", at least 26". I am 5'9, a legit 5'9 (not a 5'7 nigga, sayin' he 5'9). And my arms don't look long at all for my height, they look normal.

And there are fighters listed as 5'10/5'11 like oscar, and only a 24 inch or so reach :dunno: And in the same vein, their arms don't look short compared to their body.

Are their heights exaggerated and they forget to exaggerate their arm length? ::

 

Some fighters heights are exaggeratted. A few I know of personally are Floyd and Zab. Mayweather isn't 5'8 but thats nitpicking alittle, he's somewhat close to it. Zab Judah isn't the height they list him at which is 5'7. He's about an inch and a half shorter. Fernando Vargas just looking at him is not 5'10 more like 5'9 tops. Like most sports they always give athletes an inch or 2 for whatever reasons.

 

That's kind of what I thought. It was the arm length that made me realize. The fighters that are listed as 5'10/5'11 are actually our height.

I thought zab looked smaller than 5'7/5'8 too.

For some reason floyd was one of the fighters that looked a legit 5'8 to me. Maybe it's because he has fairly long arms/legs for his height.

Margarito is not 5'11, no way, I reckon 5'9.

Tyson himself has said he's shorter than his 5'11 listing.

 

The most important part of this post is this:

I hate to be the one to lay it on you, but that's Chris Eubank, not Nigel Benn.

In all seriousness - I have met Chris Eubank, Pete Eubank, Benn and Watson.

Benn and Watson are the heights they were listed at - 5'9/5'10 or thereabouts.

Pete Eubank is actually taller than the 5'6 he was listed as, I've been friends with him for years. He is around 5'7 at least.

Chris Eubank, I don't have a clue. I assume a legit 5'10, you cannot trust that photo though with tyson.

Chris is an egomaniac, and he wears lifts in his shoes to boost his height, I am 100% sure. I have seen him look close to my height, yet other times i have seen him look clearly over 6 foot, like 6'1, no shit.

 

All black people look the same. Hell that might be Nigel Benn standing next to Eubanks.

 

Godfather - I agree. The funny thing is, a few years ago he was consistently listed at 6 foot, and his recent fights they started to list him as 5'10, which is more realistic imo.

To start they probably just thought, oh cool, this guy is a tall 130 pounder, let's just round it up to 6 foot. Then maybe later they thought, nah he's tall enough as it is, we don't want to make it seem ridiculously unfair, him having a 6 inch height advantage over his opponents, etc ::

Shane & Floyd R about the Same Height,though Shane is LISTED as Being Taller...Erik Morales & Zab Judah R about the SAME Height, just a Hair SHORTER than Mayweather & Mosley...

DeLa is EVERY BIT of 5'10 1/2 - 5'11...Sweet Pea Whittaker is VERY Short...Like 5'5- 5'6...Zab's TALLER than Sweet Pea...

Allan Green's a LEGIT 6 Footer or More...Holyfield's a LEGIT 6'2 @ Least...Kirk Johnson's a LEGIT 6'2...

Oscar Larios is about 5'6-5'7 & he CLEARLY Looked SHORTER than Linares to REED's Eye...
