Milton McCory against Donald Curry. Mills Lane should've stopped it, McCory was done after the first KD.

Davey Moore against Roberto Duran. That ref was pathetic. The NYSAC was disgraceful that night.

That's an interesting angle......sometimes a guy is getting so badly shafted, he should just quit.

    Go back to bed dude.......

    Taylor who?

    Meldrick??? Jermaine?

I think Taylor had to get back up vs Froch, he could have won if he stayed on his feet.

This is basically what Roy said to Montell Griffin with that monster left hook in the rematch.

Montell will forever look like a kid pretending to be an airplane and flailing about the ring.

    He shouldn't have gotten up.

Also, Terry Norris against Julian Jackson. He didn't go down right away. Instead Terry froze and got pasted by another chin-shattering punch. He should have gone down after the first one and that might have save him a few million braincells.

That was a great one. Someone described it as an invisible angel telling Zab not to walk into the light. Zab started arguing, so the angel slapped him on the back of the head and he went down again.

    Nah...

    This is what happened:

Zab got up and said something to the ref like "don't ever play with matches" and then fell down again.

That was the fight that made me a boxing fan. I was like 15 and went down to the pub in the morning to watch it with my dad. It was on at around 10am, but there were like 50 people there to watch the fight. Most of them were still going on from the Saturday night before.

Nobody knew anything about Zab Judah, but drunken rumours led to 'the word' being Tszyu was going to smash him good. So everyone was betting heaps on Tszyu to win and to win by KO rounds 1-3. I got caught up in it, withdrew $200 of my savings and got my dad to bet it for me. He was the underdog in that fight.

So Judah comes out and puts an ass licking on Tszyu for the whole first round, and it looks like this is going to be a short fight. The atmosphere in the pub was so tense. But when that right handed landed, the place exploded. Everyone was hugging each other, one dude actually 'made it rain' over the bar screaming "free drinks for everyone". It was like 10.30am.

I won around $1000 and fuck that was a great day.

Reed's is about guys who were hit so hard they had no business getting up, physiologically, their rising from the canvas defied the odds.

Mine is about guys who were really wasting their time getting up...cos they was going straight back down, sometimes embarrassingly too.

For example....Holmes getting up against Shavers was a miracle. Physiologically he was hurt...so badly...that his getting up was miraculous.

Now Zab Judah also did well to get his ass up vs Tszyu. But really...he shouldn't have bothered his ass.....

It's obvious cos I made it obvious. You were riding on Cedric's coat tails, and I ain't having that....he had to stand up there in that RIDICULOUS "pastel" shirt and sweat his fat ass off to make jokes, and I am DAMNED if some pretentious Mo'Fo is going ti IMPINGE on his hard-earned copyright.

Patterson vs Johannson in their first fight.

    I mean...why bother......he was up and down like a ho's panties.

A good example of this mentality would be when Arguello stayed down vs Pryor in their Rematch....Arguello basically decided he would not get up.

If my memory is right, Jeff Lacy was finally knocked down in the 12th round of his beatdown by Calzaghe. He really shouldn't have bothered himself. Even his promoter was standing at ringside, berating the referee and telling him to stop the fight...

Yeah that would be a good example, although in getting up he saved himself from a stoppage loss and really the damage to his career had already been done by the 12th. As for Fatty Shaw trying to pass himself off as having Jeff's interests at heart..........:shit:

I think that guy Magee who fought Reid....he would have been as well off staying down the first time. He go up to get down. Fool.

Yeah, if you go down a level or six there are literally dozens of similar examples. I mean, every time an overmatched fighter takes his first KD, you could argue he should have kept his ass down.

Yeah but Magee was GENUINE European level, and fringe world level, he went 11 rounds with Froch, and landed a lot of leather in that fight. It was thought he had a lot more left than Reid......and Reid just kept dropping him. Magee should have just sat there after the 4th one....

Yeah that was the most one-sided "pick em" fight in memory (besides Mayweather-Corrales).

In fact most of the forum members at the time picked Lacy (I picked Calzaghe though).

Calzaghe made Lacy look like he was an utter bum in his first ever professional fight. I remember hearing Joe, himself, in his corner say "this guy is SHIT".
