Usually when a boxer is know to have a sturdy beard it's pretty difficult to put them down and it's surprising when it happens.

De La Hoya was floored I believe at least 4 times (not counting the Hopkins fight) but it was clear he could take a punch. I supposed Hamed would be another but with him it was mostly balance and not just well timed hard shots.

    Others?

Big George was down 4 times if I'm not mistaken, though two of those were against Lyle and the other two were against Young and Ali while utterly exhausted... Still, he was dropped 4 times and nobody would say he didn't have a top-notch chin

Leonard would be borderline as most of his knockdowns happened well past his prime. Twice against Hearns, twice against Norris and once against Lalonde.

I think I'll take the easy route and go with the very obvious Ricardo Mayorga choice.

In terms of a guy susceptible to being put on his ass but who didnt have bad chin, Tito's the obvious answer. He must've been down about 10 times but was never hurt bad until Hopkins

pernell whitaker, although he was off balance in most of his knockdowns with an exception of his knockdown vs. roger mayweather. hamed had a good chin too.

Yes. Those punches hurt him and he got dropped. Even some of the punches that didn't drop him hurt him badly. The one at the end of the first had Foreman on queer street for the rest of the round, staggering about.

Now you could say, the punches were so heavy they could have KO'd an ordinary man but when I think of fighters with stellar chins I think of fighters to take punches that should have hurt them.

Although using HWs is cheating a bit since most great HWs were dropped due to sheer size and power of the fighters.

Getting "dropped" means getting "floored", which means getting "knocked down", which means being removed from your feet by way of a punch. This happens to some fighters with good or even great chins.

Sugar Ray Robinson was down, I believe, 11 times in his career... Granted that's in 200 fights, so it's not exactly a trend...
