For me it's Evander Holyfield. I was such a huge fan of his, from his days as a cruiser, and the whole 'Project Omega'.

But it's been so long since he's been relavent, yet he still continues to tarnish his legend by insisting on fighting.

I liked Zoo when he was an amateur. He wasn't afraid of anyone back then, except Zulov..
But once he turned pro, he always insisted on finding the worst opposition available, either losing to them badly or struggling along the way....Hell, he even took on one of the worst champions ever (Jake Rodriguez) in his first title shot, when much better opposition was available....Never stepped up to elite level...

    Two fighters come to mind:

Tua. I was a big fan of his from 96 all the way up until his horrid non-perforance against Lewis. After that I stopped being a fan.

Fruitass. Was a big fan until he hired Suarez. After that he started fighting like a bitch, and after he ducked the Casa rematch like a pussy, I started to dislike him.

would it make you feel any better if I told you that Casa (or at least DeCubas) TWICE turned a rematch in return?

Barrera, though if he stays true to his word, I guess he's no longer relevant to this topic.

Tszyu - his failure to pursue a rematch with either Hatton was disappointing.

Calazaghe - believe it or not, early in his career when he was fighting on Showtime and calling out RJJ, i was a fan.

MAB - when he was still a hungry bad-azz

I dont like Casa either. Never have. It still doesnt erase the fact that Poopoo quit on his stool TWICE!

I don't remember, but as much shit as Casa talks about everyone ducking him, should that really matter?

I do know that Casa also turned down $500,000 to face Juan Diaz. But anyway, that's getting off course.

Vic Darchinyan is another one. I was a big fan of his for a while, but all the shit he talked while fighting nobody got me sick of him and just about every other flyweight. To the point where I bet on Nonito Donaire to beat him - a rare time where betting with my heart actually paid off.

ah, but it does change the assumption that Popo was unfairly accused of ducking a Casa rematch.

Agreed about Tszyu. His fans can never defend the fact that he failed to pursue rematches with Philips, and Hatton.

I feel the same way as you 100%.

It was the Lewis fight and only the lewis fight that turned me off Tua. It was not an easy task given Tua's height, but he fought like a bitch and it WAS a non performance.

And Freitas the same. He was great fun to watch and seemed like a quality fighter before Suarez ruined him and turned him into a bitch.

Money Maywheater, I used to dislike him, but then, after the Castillo fight, started to regularly root for him and became one of my favorites, but his constant immaturity and cherry picking of opponents made me dislike him agains. Come on, the guy got a jewel carrier called King Tut, what kind of childish shit is this, he needs a good ktfo to put him back on earth.

Tszyu, when I started following boxing, was one of my favorite, but it all started going downhill when I felt he won on an early stoppage in the most important fight of his carreer ( and i hated Judah ). His pitifull opposition, refusal to go for a major fight and, most importantly, ridiculous nuthuggers closed the deal for me. Now that most of them left after the Hatton debacle, I can, in retrospect, appreciate him for what he was.

I don't know if there were any fighters whom I liked but grew to really dislike, but I went from being a fan to indifferent about Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones, and Oscar De La Hoya.

Hopkins is almost to the point now where I dislike him. I was a huge fan of his for years, and I think he's one of the greatest fighters Ive ever seen, but at the same time, he's UNWATCHABLE at this point! He shoulda stayed retired after he beat Milkdud, instead he's fighting on, and his fights more and more are becoming cures for insomnia.

This is How REED Feels about Zab Judah...1nce Upon a Time he was 1 of REED's 5 or 10 Favorite CURRENT Fighters...

But 1 DISAPPOINTING Loss After Another, Coupled w/his CHEAPSHOTS Against Floyd Made REED Indifferent about him...Zab's Ho-Hum "Efforts" Against Pineda & Baldomir, his IMMATURITY & LACK of Discipline (Not to Mention a Genuine FIGHTPLAN) was a Turn-Off as Well...

REED could Never HATE the Cat, but REED Wouldn't Call himself a "Fan" of Zab's Anymore, Either...

Agreed 100%. Ive become indifferent about Zab as well. Prior to the Tszyu fight, I was probably the biggest Zab fan on any board. I continued to be a big fan until he disgraced him by choking against Bumlomir.

Holyfield is the only guy i can think of that i used to like and now always root against.

I was never really a "fan" of Tua but i never used to root against him like i do now though.

I'm pretty much indifferent with Mayweather. I'm backing Hatton, but moreso because i like the guy, not because i hate Floyd.

I used to be a big fan of Oscar, but I grow more and more irritated by the whole 'Golden Boy Mafia' thing with each passing day: not to mention his part time boxing career...

Holyfield is the obvious one- the sooner he retires, the better. He really is going to get hurt, BADLY, if he carries on taking punches for payday's (how much more money does the guy need?)

I also used to like Audley Harrison...until he turned pro...:eeeek:

BHop. I was a major fan of his up until somewhere around his fight with Pay Per Hoya. Can't stand him anymore!!

I used to be a big fan of Wlad
But I always had the hope or impression that his style would develop, into something more fluid and dominating, something respectable, that could be watched and be impressed from start to finish. But instead it has just gotten worse, plus he's added lots of holding to his arsenal. I can't stand him anymore.
