You know a fight where you were rooting HEAVILY for a certain fighter and he was dominated and/or destroyed. Which fights hurt you THE MOST? For me, compiling this list is easy: 1. Ali vs Holmes (need I say anymore?) 2. Watson-Eubank 2 (I was tempted to stop watching boxing...but only for a day or so) 3. Tyson-Holyfield 1..it still hurts  4. Lewis-Tyson..ditto! 5. Tito-Hopkins (doesn't hurt anymore..I'm a bigger fan of Hopkins now than I am Tito...but at the time I was in pain) 6. Jones-Tarver 2. They say that a picture is worth 1000 words, well here is the picture>>>> 7. Holyfield-Bowe 1 (I hated Rock Newman and was a huge Evander fan at the time) What about you?
Tyson - Lewis Trinidad - Hopkins Morales Pacquiao 2 and 3 Vargas - De La Hoya Naseem - Barrera (I was a huge naseem fan)
I was drunk, and he punched me about ten times. He tossed me into my car and it made a dent. I didn't miss work, but I had a hell of a lot of trouble getting out of bed the next morning.
There's no fight that hurts me deeply. This is boxing, somebody has to lose and you have to expect the worst. Besides, what the hell are you crying about Tyson for anyway, sly? He was an overrated bum beater post-prison. He deserved to get his loudmouth arrogant ass beat up by Holyfield and Lewis.
I said post-prison Tyson. Not prime Tyson. Prime Tyson was cool. Post-prison Tyson was vulger and damaged his career and reputation. Pretty much became the laughing stock of the world. It would've been better if he had not come back to boxing after prison.
I don't have any that hurts but the one fight that I was pleased to see was Pacquiao vs Barrera I.All the experts,Historians(on fightbeat and the rest of the internet) exc picked Barrera because he did everything right and Pacquiao did everything wrong.........but the truth is there's no right way or wrong too boxing and Pacquiao made the experts and Historians look like complete idiots and continues to do so thats why they hate his fucking guts.
disappointing thread. I clicked on it expecting to hear a detailed description of a severe ass whipping the thread starter was the recipient of
Hamed-Barrera Lewis-Rahman II (Lewis would held up so much higher without that) Klitschko-Brewster I (the sabotage was in)
Tokunbo Olajide vs Ian Gardner hurt so much to watch that I considered forgetting about boxing altogether.
Hurt is a big word but I was very disapointed by the results of these fights : Tito-Hopkins/Wright Morales-Pac 2-3 Wlad-Part Time Golfer Stephane Ouellet-Hilton 1... Yeah, I was a fan of that no-chin having brain dead motherfucker... Not anymore though but I'd still root for him against the child molester... I always prefered Lewis but Lewis Tyson was kinda sad... End of an era... Same for Holyfield-Toney even though I've never been a big Holyfield fan, the way he pretty much gassed after 2 or 3 rounds (if it's not 1 round...) was a sad thing to see. Roy-Johnson, the second tarver fight was more of a shock but it wasn't saddening because that kind of stuff happens in boxing, Roy got caught, fair enough. Againts Johnson he got totally dominated by a good but somewhat limited opponent that he would have totally destroyed a few years before. Good topic Sly!
Mugabi/Hagler. Mugabi was my favorite fighter as a kid. I loved watching him fight. I remember the first time I saw him fight, it was on ABC's Wide World of Sports. I liked his nickname "The Beast" (funny what kids latch on to:: ). I got to go watch him fight in Vegas, my dad took me for my birthday and I got to meet him. He was awesome, gave me his gloves and took a picture with me. When Hagler beat him I cried. I think it meant more to me as a kid than any fight I have ever seen since.
When Ali KO'd Foreman. I was crushed as a kid as I saw that live on closed circuit in Houston. You would think that Foreman's hometown would be cheering him on, but they were cheering for Ali! When George did that pirouette and went down and was counted as as he rose, that place went nuts.
