I'm actually with JOM. Spinks-Judah 1 was a very good, highly competitive fight. The rematch Zab just kicked Spinks' ass.
Pretty much all of the Marquez-Vazquez fights were great but i can't even recall which one is which now.
I too enjoyed the action in the first fight much more. However the second had a definite, indisputable ending and was perhaps a career-best performance for Judah
Fight about to start now in Eddie Hearns garden has the potential to be even better than the first fight. It's Katie Failer vs Delfine Persoon.
Don't know if anyone caught it but the referee fell in the Taylor-Persoon fight. In another instance, Persoon swung herself into the mat and the referee let her get up and fight on , never bothered to wipe her gloves
The 2nd and 3rd are the best. 1st fight: Vázquez retires on his stool with a busted nose 2nd fight: Both guys cut, Vázquez stops Márquez in the 6th. 3rd fight: Vázquez drops Márquez with about 15 seconds left in the fight, and wins on the card by 1 point. The fourth fight was just a money grab, Vázquez and his team probably knew their chances were slim with his surgeries from the detached retinas. I think he was sparring with some special protective headgear to try to protect his eyes. Vázquez’s face was all cut up early on and got stopped.
Matthew Saad Muhammad-Yaqui Lopez 2 was the first to come to mind. Salad’s first fight with Marvin Johnson was probably better than the second, but the 2nd was a classic too. Bobby Chacon-Cornelius Boza Edwards 2 was a classic. I haven’t seen the first 3 Chacon fights against Bazooka Limon but I imagine they weren’t as good as the fourth. Frankie Liles-Tim Littles 2 was a great short fight. Julio Cesar Chavez’s 2nd fight with Roger Mayweather was better than the first. GGG-Canelo 2 was better than the first.
Fights where the first fight was a classic but the second fight was even better: -Basilio-DeMarco 2 -Saad-Lopez 2 -Arguello-Escalera 2 (I know @PhillyPhan69 will disagree with me on this) -Banke-Zaragoza 2 Fights where the first fight was okay but the rematch was a classic: -Chacon-Boza (I actually think the first fight is underrated and was very good for the first 10 rounds before Boza took over but the second fight was on another level) -Valdez-Briscoe (the second fight was a war) -Duran-DeJesus Fights where the 3rd or 4th fight in the series was the best: -Vasquez-Marquez (the 2nd was better than the 1st and the 3rd was better than the 2nd) -Chacon-Limon (the 3rd was better than the 2nd but the 4th was better than the 3rd) -Ali-Frazier 3 (very arguable on this one)
Daniel Zaragoza vs Paul Banke 2 Israel Vazquez vs Oscar Larios 2 Israel Vazquez vs Rafael Marquez 2 Alberto Davila vs Frankie Duarte 2 Alberto Davila vs Lupe Pintor 2 Donald Curry vs Marlon Starling 2 Juan Francisco Estrada vs Carlos Cuadras 2 Canelo vs GGG 2
I thought the first fight was the best. The rematch was definitely a lot closer though, and still a good action fight.
