Discuss some fights where you rooted for a guy that you almost never rooted for

Oscar de La Hoya KO6 Ricardo Mayorga -- I fucking hate Mayorga, I hate his act, I hate his amateurish free swinging... For me, this was about a proper boxer teaching a loudmouth scrub a lesson, and it was wonderful... Hoya embarassed Mayorga, beat him up better than anyone did (don't forget, Trinidad had some scary moments against Mayorga, though he did finish him impressively) ... that was probably the only fight where I rooted for Oscar and it was great

Roy Jones TKO6 Vinny Pazienza -- I disliked Roy Jones always, I hated his personality, his style, all of it... but I knew he was going to embarrass that stupid meatball and I loved it... Watching that idiot, bloated with all of his steroids, knocked all over the place was a very pleasing experience

Floyd Mayweather Jr. TKO6 Arturo Gatti -- For two years, I had to listen to "Gatti has WORLD CLASS skills when he uses them" ... "Oooh, look at how McGirt has altered Gatti's style, now he is an elite fighter, realizing his potential" BULLSHIT, he was outboxing Micky Ward, a 102 year old Jesse James Leija, Branco, Dorin... second tier guys all the way... Anybody with half of a brain KNEW this was a ridiculous mismatch, yet there were a good 5 or 6 guys here who continually harped on how Gatti was going to "force" the fight, how he could "box with Floyd Mayweather" fucking ridiculous... the worst part was that afterwards, a couple of them refused to accept the obvious and chastised Gatti for "fighting the wrong fight" ... total nonsense... I longed for the myth of Arturo Gatti to be exposed once and for all and Mayweather did in spades

Erik Morales W12 Paulie Ayala -- because I hated Ayala and all of the ridiculous decisions that went his way

I can't say I "rooted" for Khan, but I enjoyed seeing him beat the crap out of Judah.

    Likewise for Judah against Stinks.

    Hatton -Tszyu

At the time, I was a big Hatton hater (tough he grew on me after a while), but still, I was so annoyed by Australians overating Tzyu that I was rooting for him

Never "hated" Hopkins but it's rare i root for him.

I did when he fought Stinky Wright (although i never watched the fight and never will)

Like all fights involving Wright, it's dreadful

I hate Winky Wright, the most boring fighter ever... he made Willie Pastrano look like Matthew Saad Muhammad

Lewis against the older Klit sister.

Also very much enjoyed Nate Campbell(who I always hated), beating the shit outta the Baby Heffer(who I hated more).

    Good question!!!

I did the opposite. I rooted for Pacquiao to beat morales in that first fight although I was more a fan of Morales at that time. I thought it would be better for boxing if Pacquiao won.

    But the other way around....

    hmmm......
