REED isn't all that Familiar w/the Filho Situation, but "Closing" the Middleweight & Lightheavy Divisions is a GOOD Move...It's CONFUSING to MMA Newbies like REED when UFC OWNS WEC, yet has "World" Champions N BOTH Organizations @ 185 & 205... It Actually CHEAPENS the WEC Versions of those Titles...Ditto for the WEC Welterweight Title... If WEC Truely IS a Showcase for LOWER Weights, then they Should ONLY Have Lower Weight Divisions... That's what REED INITIALLY Thought of the Organization Until TFK Informed REED that WEC was a "Showcase" for LOWER Weights... That Being the Case, it's a GOOD Move to Get Rid of the 185 & 205 Divisions...& Even though it would Affect REED's Homey, Marcus Hicks, they Should CLOSE the 155 Division Also...Welterweight as Well... If U're TRUELY "Showcasing" the Lower Weights, then ONLY Have Lower Weight Titles.... The Term "WORLD" Champion STILL has Value in MMA...They Should Do EVERYTHING they Can to MAINTAIN that Value, as Opposed to CHEAPENING it, as Boxing has... REED:hammert:
It's disappointing but not unexpected to read this about Filho. It's really ashame that he hit the skids before getting some UFC exposure.
