Cotto is faster and younger. Mosley is going downhill for a while now. Cotto's agression and youth will win this fight. He might knock down Mosley a couple of times like Forrest did. This fight will make Cotto almost as popular as Tito Trinidad.

Too early for this thread, but I'll bite:

I've gone back and forth on this one since it was signed...shit, even before it was signed. It's a 50-50 affair.

    However

I have to go with sound logic, and logic dictates that this is Cotto's time and not Shane's.

    Cotto TKO 11

There are only thirty days to go man :dunno:

It is simply better for boxing if Cotto wins. He is a rising star and hopefully he will make it to the top.

I'm going with Cotto. Mosley's under suspicion for steroid abuse, and he won't even be able to take pseudo-epinepherine. He won't be able to train as hard as he usually does, and he'll lose to the younger Cotto, by decision.

You really think Cotto is faster than Mosley? Sure Cotto is much younger but there is no comparison in terms of speed between the two IMO, of course.

Cotto is a great fighter but his speed is pretty pedestrian.

Mosley was fast as lightning in his younger days. That version of Mosly was on another level. Those days are over now. He has slowed down considerably.

I highly suggest any of you guys picking Cotto based on Shane being "past it" to go back and rewatch Mosley-Collazo. It is the assumption that Shane is past it and many of you picking with your hearts and not your heads that have you thinking Cotto will win this fight.

After rewatching the Collazo fight, it can basically be said that Shane is as sharp now as he was in his 1st run in the 147lb division. His reflexes, reaction time, and hand/foot speed where all still there and I saw no trace of falloff in it. Having said that.....

Shane has never lost to a guy his height, he's never lost to a guy with a coming forward borderline brawling style, and he's never lost to a latino. His chin is one of the best, he's tough and isn't afraid to take punishment. He's going to be hitting Cotto a lot more often than Cotto hits him and then he'll be retreating out of range with a much better foot speed than Cotto has. Shane can win this fight off of his foot speed alone. Thinking with your head that should be about....

    Mosley TKO 8

Mosley wasn't under intense scrutiny for steroid abuse then.

Even though you're borderline trolling whenever you bring this up, I'm going to address it this once:

The time Mosley (most likely unintentionally)used the steroids was when he fought the ODLH rematch. Now what was the outcome of that fight? Shane was slower then he ever was and arguably lost to his son. The steriods he was taking were for muscle building, not performance enhancement like you're implying. If anything him being off roids will help not hurt his performance.

Please stop this ridiculous crusade, it's amusing but getting old.

On paper only, on paper only my friend. I would honestly pick Collazo to beat him if they signed to fight tomorrow.

If Judah is so much better than Collazo, how come Judah absolutely got dominated against Cotto whereas Collazo borderline beat Hatton? I understand Cotto may be a bit better than Hatton, but not by as huge a margin as Judah's loss was as opposed to Collazo's.

That remains to be seen. He's definitely better, but a lot better is still questionable. Once Shane beats him, he'll go back to mortality and come down off the Duranian level everyone has proped him up on after that overrated win over Judah who I might mention just came off of 2 losses.

On top of that, I guarantee Collazo would've done a better job against Cotto than Judah did. Judah was absolutely disgraceful in that fight and maybe it's the fact that I noticed that more than everyone else seems to is the reason I haven't overhyped Cotto claiming he'll do things no other fighter has ever done before to Shane Mosley.

Hard to say. Because of Judah's losing streak is easy to see Collazo doing better.

But the last two times I saw Collazo was against Hatton and Shane. Both time losing, so what is there to be impressed by Collazo?:dunno:

Judah was at one time a damn good fighter and a champion in two divisions. This is supossed to be Collazo's time and he doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

I look at Judah as a guy who used to be pretty good maybe great. But his time has passed. I havent' said that about Collazo and probably never will. :dunno:

AS far as Shane I also think he used to be a great fighter. But his time has passed. This is Cotto's time. It will be a hard fought fight but Cotto will earn a UD.

Shane's stock went up when he beat VArgas back to back. That is the equivalent of Oscar beating Mayorga and some thinking he had a chance against Floyd. then he had a reality check.
