I've had it with this opinion being thrown around so much when it comes to Floyd fighting Pacquiao. Exactly where is the evidence of this? When has Floyd fought a prime all time great as powerful and aggressive as Pacquiao and easily beaten him? Mosley, who can't even seem to throw punches with any mustard on them anymore seriously hurt Floyd with one punch and although Floyd handled it extremely well I think it should allow for a little doubt as to how easily Floyd will handle Pacquiao. Personally I think Pacquiao Floyd would be shockingly similar to Tarver Jones II with Floyd playing the part of Roy. I'm so sure Floyd won't beat Pacquiao that if they ever fight I'm going to sig beat on it, but the bottom line is people need to stop saying Floyd easily beats Pacquiao. He may beat him, but it won't be easy.
Watch Pacquiao vs. Clottey...Clottey LANDED Lead Right Hands & Left Hooks WHENEVER He Threw Them...Lead Right Hands & Left Hooks R Amongst Floyd's BEST Punches (Along w/Left Jabs)... REED:kidcool:
clearly the game plan for mayweather jr (should they ever actually fight) would be to keep pacquaio at range with well timed straight shots, a la marquez and morales when they had success against pacquiao.
Floyd has now retired twice to avoid Manny. There's something to be said for being a pussy. I used to think Floyd won hands down, but he knows Manny is a threat and is actively avoiding him, there must be a reason. I've changed my mind on this fight, Floyd would be too scared to fight someone this dangerous.
Mayweather is hoping he can add Pacquiao to his resume w/out actually having to fight him...by beating Mosley he didn't only add hm to his resume but also added Margarito.... and if by the cheating gods of boxing Margarito is too pull off the upset, Mayweather will probably fight him immediately...if the fear he had for Margarito back in 2007-2009 is gone...then he can add not only Pac but Cotto to his resume...
I'll take that bet and I'll be asking LOK for one of his patented sigs for you to wear. Floyd will shellack PAC and it will not be close. He will either shut him out or stop him late.
Yep. That's how it works. The "Hypothetical Resume" Why would he have to fight Manny, when in the eyes of so many, he already has his scalp However, I would favour PBF in the matchup. PBF size & strength advantages will surprise a lot of people if they ever fought. I also think that PBF isn't nearly as confident as I am.
Floyd would win....but he is so worried about "what if he beats me?" that it'll never happen. The man has major insecurity issues. Nobody REALLY likes him....kinda sad, but he's done it to himself. Boxing is such a part of who he is, that when boxing is all over ....his life will essentially also be over. You can see it coming.
When Floyd retired after the Hatton fight Pacman was preparing to fight Marquez at 135 and nobody was asking for a fight between them. In fact Oscar who Floyd just beat had all kinds of criticism for fighting small Pacquiao.
What exactly can Floyd do to get credit from you. You are actually complaining if Floyd fights Margarito if he beats Pacquiao. If anything it proves Floyd right, he told Margarito to his face we will fight when the fights bigger which it would be, much bigger in 2011 than in 2007/2008.
I'm tired of this too. And not just in the case of Pacquiao. It's basically just a symptom of PBF's over-ratedness, the very thing that allows him to remain at the top of the sport without taking on the best guys in his division.
Riiiight... It CAN'T Possibly B an ANALYSIS of STYLES & How Each Guy Fared Against Fighters w/SIMILAR Attributes, Could It???...The VAST MAJORITY of those that Think Floyd would "Win Easily" R Also HEAVILY CRITICIZING him for NOT Taking the Fight... REED:kidcool:
You mean the kind of analysis in which someone points to a fight between Pacquiao and Clottey, in which Pacquiao won every round, and in which Clottey's work-rate was next to nothing, as an indication that PBF can beat Pacquiao? Huh?
agREED. "However" Pac fans will argue Floyd took a fight with his ex-gf rather than taking a fight with Pac.
That's just It, Even with a PUTRID Workrate, Clottey Landed Virtually EVERY Lead Right Hand AND Left Hook that he Threw...It's Right There on the Tape, Doub... But REED Could've just as Easily Referenced EITHER Pac-Marquez Fight, Particularly the RE...Or even the 1st Morales Fight...Floyd Mayweather has a SUPERIOR Skillset to EITHER of those Fine Fighters AND he's BIGGER... Other than CHILDISH HATE, what R YOU Basing YOUR Opinion On???... REED:kidcool:
In 24 Full Rounds w/JM Marquez, it's Conceivable that Manny Pac FAILED to Accumulate a TOTAL of 10 Rounds Won...Yet Guys Wonder WHY Many Think Floyd would BEAT Pac Rather Easily???... REED:kidcool:
Clottey is an all together different fighter than PBF. Not only does it mean that he's going to approach a fight with Pacquiao differently than PBF, but it also means that Pacquiao is going to approach the fight differently. That's basically why I don't think it's very useful to say that because Clottey landed some shots, that PBF will land more. Did you see Mosley/Mora? Mosley got popped with some counters because basically, Mora wasn't throwing any punches, and Mosley didn't have to worry about getting countered - most of the time. The same was true of Pacquiao in the Clottey fight. Are you comfortable with the conclusion that since Mosley hurt PBF badly, that Pacquiao would? And that since he's quicker than Mosley, that he'd manage to finish PBF when Mosley couldn't?
Clottey is a STATUE Compared to Floyd Mayweather...& Even Though Floyd Isn't Known for his Workrate, he OUTWORKS Clottey for Sure...Pacquiao WON'T B Overly Concerned w/Floyd's Ability to Hurt him (Not Initially, Anyways), so he WILL Fight AGGRESSIVELY, as he Did Against Clottey... Clottey LACKS Floyd's Ringsmarts, Mobility & Ability to ADJUST...Nonetheless, Clottey STILL Landed Lead Right Hands & Left Hooks, WHENEVER He Threw them...What's THE Most Effective Punch Against a Southpaw???....A LEAD RIGHT HAND...If Clottey Knows This, what Makes U Think Floyd DOESN'T???...Fuuuuuuuurthermore, if Clottey could LAND them @ a High %, what Makes U Think Floyd Couldn't????.... Sure, The Mosley Fight PROVES that Pac Could HURT Floyd, but it's NOT as if REED Ever Doubted that Anyways...But Since Pac NEVER EVER Switches Stances, what's the Likelihood of Him Landing THE SAME EXACT Shot on Floyd that Shane Did???... Besides All that, Feel Free to Address Pac-Marquez I & II AND Pac-Morales I.... REED:kidcool:
I am pretty confident PBF would win the fight handily, but until he actually does (or even takes it), I am all in for Floy-cott
agREED... The Belief that Floyd COULD or COULDN'T "Easily Beat" Pac is SUPERCEDED by the Fact that he WON'T Share a Prize Ring w/Him...So Until Floyd SIGNS to Do Such a Thing, FUCK 'Em.... REED:mj:
Yeah most people dunno shit about boxing... :giggle: @ REED - about the boxers both of them faced, don't forget de la Hoya. Pac beat him rather easily compared to DLH - so this goes both ways. But i don't think these comparisons are useful since always the guy who faced him later fought a possibly much worse version. (at least this goes for the Marquez and de la Hoya fights.)
that's a good point. how in the hell is Pacquiao, the same guy who was knocked out by a body-shot, going to beat PBF? A guy who has never lost?
Dela was Also BLEEDING FROM HIS ARMS During the Staredown, from Trying to REHYDRATE Himself from Weighing in @ 147... REED:kidcool:
Pac was CLEARLY DRAINED Fighting @ Extremely LOWER Weights...His Punch Resistance is a NIGHT & DAY DIFFERENCE from what it Used to B...Ditto for Dela, who Suffered a Knockdown here or There when he was DRAINING Himself to Make 130... Failed Attempt @ Sarcasm, F.Y.I. REED:mj:
PBF's been more hurt at 140 and 147 than he ever was at 130. As far as Pac/JMM and Pac/Morales, I don't think it's relevant. I think precisely because of those fights, Pacquiao is a much better fighter now. Plus, he's faster relatively speaking, and he's maintained his featherweight work-rate. PBF, of course, doesn't have that experience to draw on.
