Ok, it's clear Forrest wants a 3rd fight with Mayorga. Now that Mayorga has taken 2 beatings, can Forrest now beat Mayorga or does Ricardo simply have his#?
i think @154 and with 10oz gloves, Forrest does fine. and he knows it. the key will be not backing up, and staying offensive.
I do! It will be a fun fight to watch including if Forrest trades with him like he did the first fight! It will be a flattening in the making for Forrest and he gets KTFO again!:: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EIi7U_xOUDM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EIi7U_xOUDM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> Look how easily he takes Forrest shots!:bears:
Mayorga at this stage can still take a much better shot than Vargas. Nando's chin is shit at this point. He's going to get KTFO again.
right off the bat, I want to say Forrest schools him this time. But Mayorga owns him right now and is in his head as he lays it on his pillow at night. I d
I think they can both hurt eachother. I wouldn't say Mayorga's chin is that great. After Oscar had him almost out in the very first round with a single shot. Vargas still hits hard and he can hurt Mayorga. I think Vargas has the skill advantage to pull it out. Then again, it's Vargas and he may just get stupid and get caught.
Forrest beats Mayorga now. He's got more confidence and that is the key. He won't go in as scared to throw as he did in the second fight.
Based on what I've consistently seen from Mayorga his 1st fight with Forrest was a fluke. He wasn't nearly as impressive in the rematch or any other time since. On top of that Forrest only lost the rematch because he was underconfident giving up the 1st half of the fight. Once he manned up and started opening up he won the 2nd half of the fight which is why it was so close. So I have to think that if Forrest fought confident the whole fight he would have won. Mayorga has shown me jack shit since his first Forrest KO. What has he done since then? Not a fucking thing. Forrest boxes his head off if they ever fight again because Mayorag doesn't have, and never did have Forrest's number. Mayorga got lucky, twice. I've asked this question many a times for Mayorga but here it is again. Has anyone ever made more off of one fluke KO than Mayorga has? The guy's made millions off that KO.
i have never seen that fight, the night of the fight there was extreme thunderstorms and my electricity went out
forrest fought a dumb fight in the first one and got knocked out. he tried to fight smart in the rematch but looked sloppy in the process (although i thought he did enough to win.)
REED Actually had Vernon WINNING the RE w/Mayorga... 1 of the Scoring Criteria is "EFFECTIVE AGGRESSION"...Mayorga was "Aggressive",but INeffectively So....He THREW Forrest to the Canvas MORE than he Landed Clean Blows...He Used his Elbows,Rabbit Punches,U Name it... REED Recalls some Fightbeat DUMBASSES Actually Giving Mayorga the Round where he PURPOSELY Allowed Forrest to Hit him w/a Series of 1-2's ... N Addition to Being PAST his Prime,Mayorga's AURA is Diminished...Forrest Beats him if they Fight a 3rd Time... Despite the Other Night,Forrest HAS Slipped, but he Always Relied on SKILL/TECHNIQUE more than Natural Talent,so his Decline ISN'T as Exaggerated as Mayorga's... Forrest by Wide UD or Late Stoppage... REED
That was great stuff by Mayorga! Forrest punches didnt faze him:: All jokes aside I think at this stage of the game Forrest wins a UD against Mayo. I dont think he's the same after 2 beatings he took.
I disagree. Mayorga may not be an elite fighter but he shouldn't be clasiffied as a bum either. He beat Forrest via KO the first fight and in my opinion successfully out pointed him in the rematch. I also think he beat Spinks and legitimately speaking , if he hadn't been deducted the 2 un-neccesary points in that fight , he would have at minimum had a draw. He got battered by Oscar but that upercut he landed might have dropped another fighter that had a little less of a chin then Oscar has. Mayorga is a decent win for any fighter out there right now. If Vargas beats him , it might move him back into a position where he can have another higher profile fight.
Sure,it was ENTERTAINING,but How do U WIN a Round by ALLOWING a Guy to Hit U w/6 CLEAN Shots???:dunno: ... As Much as that Scenario BELITTLED Forrest,he Still WON that Round...Giving that Round to Mayorga is Nearly as Bad as Willie Pep WINNING a Round w/Out THROWING a Single Shot:: REED
i dont recall who won that round, but didnt mayorga nearly run him out of the ring after those free shots?
