Stumbled on this gem of a show on Amazon. I think it first came out in 2015 and ran for like 2 1/2 seasons, though it doesn't look like Amazon carries the last 1/2 a season, which is super annoying.

Part "Contagion", part "The Thing" and part "The Serpent and the Rainbow", with a bunch of local politics and mythology thrown in, set in the Norwegian part of the Arctic Circle, in a sort of Scientific Research/Mining Town.

Good watch, very bingeable. 2nd Season tends to be much more convoluted then the first, but might actually be more watchable somehow. Lots of red herrings to keep the plot moving forward, sometimes feeling unnecessary, but worth it for some of the performances. Especially those from Stanley Tucci, Michael Gambon and Richard Dormer (who becomes more and more unhinged as the series goes on).

Dennis Quaid shows up in Season 2 and gives the typical Dennis Quaid workmanlike performance.

    I remember this.
I remember it being a massive budget, endless SKY adverts and a huge marketing push about it daily at the tine.

The (then) British answer to 'Nordic noir'?

Great thread Nobs, great breakdown of the show, I especially like how you included a trailer.
