....has DLH build up a fighter yet, who is a draw?

When will DLH learn that boxing is not only about signing all the (old) finished products you can get, guaranteed HBO dates and making private porn. Or does he even care? Will GBP disappear, when the HBO dates disappear?

Daniel Ponce De Leon was with De la Hoya and he has quite some fans, not as much as the elite of course. I truly think that GBP is the current leader of promotions replacing the fading Don King Productions. Main Events and GBP are the two big ones right now. I don't see GBP dissapearing anytime soon.

    You mean Top Rank, right?

I think Top Rank is much better at building stars, but that GBP might have the better overall stable at the moment.

We'll see what happens with their new batch of fighters (Velazquez twins, Daniel Jacobs, Danny Garcia, etc). All are promising.

Abner Mares, for the moment, to a successful fighter they've developed from jump. Not sure if it was their doing or Don Chargin, but Vicente Escobedo went from can't miss to can't ever get his groove back without ever advancing beyond the prospect level.

Arum made a point to mention it at the Pavlik-Lockett/Lopez-Ponce de Leopn post-fight presser about PDL being one of the few they've truly developed from the ground up - and that we saw how well that turned out.

What they're missing is a friend of the family like Cameron Dunkin to pick out talent (Shelly Finkel seems to be trying to play that role for the moment). And once they get them - a Brad Goodman to match them up. Eric Gomez is a super nice guy, but a gifted matchmaker he is not.

gomez is the one who blew it puttiing escobedo in with jiminez.

I wouldn't give gp too much credit for any success ponce had, they promoted him shittily

experiment?...am i being naive to think that they are in it for the long term? So far so good i think.....they've shaken up boxing, and i think in the last few years more big fights are happening.....i think there are 2 main reasons for that.....one is the emergence and threat of MMA, the other is Golden Boy.

When I first saw Ponce I thought he was a midget version of Maussa in a southpaw form who can punch.
