Of the new generation of fighters currently active, who in your opinion will get into the hall of fame? Of course, I don't think most of them have done enough to warrant it but projecting their career into the future, we can take some guess.
Good one, I agree. BTW, I think it's debatable that Floyd is part of the new generation but we can't really lump him with Mosley, DLH, Jones, Hopkins, Trinidad and all so I put him with the new generation of fighters, just like Pacquiao who's between 2 generations.
From heaviest to lightest: (left off the obvious ones. Oscar, Mayweather, Hopkins) Wlad Klitschko Antonio Tarver Joe Calzaghe Miguel Cotto Jose Luis Castillo Juan Diaz Juan Manuel Marquez Manny Pacquiao Jorge Linares Rafael Marquez Israel Vasquez Gerry Penalosa Ivan Calderon
I really like Marquez but right now I wonder if he'll get in. Joe C will get in for sure but I'd lump him with Jones and all, probably Marquez too.
Well, he needs to learn how to defend himself first. But I think he will. If not, he won't be around long enough.
Every ingredient seems there IMO but in boxing we never know, that's about the only absolute in boxing.
Old generation=1984, 1988, 1992 Olympic classes New generation=1996,2000(blech!), 2004 classes Next generation=2008
Calderon? No friggin' way. Shit resume. Shit excitement. Shit fame. If he gets in, then Ottke should be a Super Hall of Famer.
Calderon = true legit victory against Cazares Ottke = bunch of dubious decisions...against questionable opponents...
If I don't think too hard, Cazares is the only opponent I can think of for Calderon and Cazares had plenty of losses already. Ivan Calderon has as much business in the boxing HOF as Ivan Calderon has in the baseball HOF. zilch.
here is another fighter that will be in the hall of fame...MIGUEL COTTO.. here is one fighter that will never make it....unless he purchase a ticket at the front entrance.....ANTONIO MARGARITO
