Foreman was on the line to meet the winner between Holyfield and Douglas, which he did. Suppose Holyfield pulls out and Foreman steps in for him to meet Douglas, in two months notice. What happens?
Normally I dislike talking about "versions" of fighters but the Douglas that upset Tyson and the blimp that showed up against Holyfield were vastly different. Since the thread is about Foreman stepping in against the same guy on the same night that Holyfield stopped I favor big George. It would have taken him longer than Evander but he still gets it done. Since it would be Foreman instead of Holyfield I wouldn't be surprised if Douglas showed up even more out of shape if that's even possible.
George would plod forward eat some jabs and shatter that glass jaw with a jackhammer right. Foreman ko5
If we're talking about the exact same version of the fat Douglas against Holyfield, Douglas would be ahead on the cards for about five rounds until Foreman lands a sledgehammer right hand. Douglas gets dropped, could probably get back up and decides "fuck it I already made $40 million for this shit" and stays down
Ive never been totally sold on a disinterested douglas looking for a place to lie down vs holy - he was only a couple of lb heavier than vs Oliver McCall & its pretty plausible that he thought the extra weight might work to his advantage vs a recent cruiser? I think he just met a better fighter and got caught with a peach of a hook Anyway, i think foreman's a slight favourite to get the KO but if Alex Stewart can cling on to hear the bell even fat Douglas might
