Of course, he legitimately lost to Ponce De Leon IMO.

well, that was at 122. majority thought he took de leon to school.

i thought he lost the first tokuyama fight, but it was close. the rematch could've gone either way and i thought he won both fights vs. that sprinter from korea.

both tokuyama and cho were fast safety first boxers and especially tokuyama, he's one of the hardest fighters to beat.

galaxy was a monster and a southpaw himself. penalosa had the better chin, but galaxy hit harder and threw straighter punches. a tough fight to pick.

Majority? Not sure about that but I think schooling a fighter in spurts and not landing anything meaningfull for about 3/4 of the fight doesn't qualify as a schooling IMO. Penalosa had his moments, he landed very good punches but De Leon landed more and landed a lot of body punches that seemed to be totally disregarded by those who were blinded by Penalosa nicer style. I remember looking at some scorecards and some people were scoring rounds for Penalosa for about 1 clean punch that didn't hurt De Leon at all. If Penalosa had been more active he surely could have won, he is way more skilled than De Leon, but he was just content to land 1 punch here and there and try to steal rounds about 20 seconds from the end. De Leon gets no love because he's so crude and akward but I think he definitely beat Penalosa. The scorecards were ridiculous but not less than those that had Penalosa winning all rounds (Because I've heard people actually try to defend that point).

Galaxy might have been too slow for Penalosa IMO.

okay. point taken on penalosa-de leon.

as for galaxy-penalosa, i dont think galaxy was too slow. penalosa was never a dominant fighter.

i'd go w/ galaxy by decision in a competitive fight.
