I'm on a bit of a round fix at the moment - just enjoying some short bursts of high octane action. Inevitably most of the great rounds I think of were in already memorable fights, which stands to reason (e.g. round 8 in Saad-Lopez; rounds 3, 9 and 12 in Gomez-Pintor; rounds 14 and 15 in Chacon-Limon 4). But can you think of some great standalone rounds in otherwise ordinary or at least not obviously great fights? Post 'em here.
If you want a great round, watch round four or Mayweather-Corley, it's insane. Rest of the fight is pretty good too, but nothing like this round.
Rahman vs sanders had an insane round where a double kd was pretty much scored. Was very average after that
Ali had a few fights that probably fit on here. Round 2 of the 2nd Frazier fight, a few select rounds of the Doug Jones fight, and the final rounds of the Lyle and Bonavena fights come to mind.
It's probably too extreme to call the fight "ordinary," but Jofre-Medel I featured two ATG rounds (5 and 9) amidst an otherwise just decent, solid fight IMO.
I don't know if Chris has posted it here and I haven't noticed, but his Jofre book is out now. I'll look for the links.

Yeah, that's a good point. I almost feel a little similar about Ward-Gatti 1 - that might be taking it a bit far - but 5 and 9 were real standout rounds in that one, far better than the others in my opinion.
First one I thought of. People often seem to remember that as a great fight, but they’re probably only remembering rounds 6 and 12 and not the other 10.
