I feel like I did this one years ago, but worth revisiting. Both have a lot in common. Both were road warriors, especially early on their title reigns. Both get overshadowed by more famous/revered all time greats. For Nelson, he gets overshadowed by greats like Sanchez, Arguello, and Chavez. McCallum gets overshadowed by Leonard, Hearns, and Hagler. Comparing them as fighters, had great chins and superb skill. Nelson was DEFINITELY a much bigger puncher P4P, and perhaps that's the main separation. What say yall?
Good comparison. Azumah was clearly the better puncher while McCallum was the superior technician. Resume wise they’re so close close together but I think Nelson was the greater fighter, especially given how he KOd Wilfredo Gomez and Jeff Fenech in their backyard.
