Which films would score highest if you got both a cross section of kids and a cross section of adults to rate them out of ten and then summed the total?

I'm thinking ghostbusters, Jurassic park I & Star Wars would be the top three?

Jurrasic park is for kids more than lion king is for grown ups. I saw Jurrasic park when I was 7 and was mental for it. Dinosaurs dinosaurs dinosaurs all the time

nah, adults love them some lion king. Jurassic Park would scare the hell out of young kids, young kids that are not Scottish highland barbarians that is. ;)

Hell no it isn't. I wouldn't have a 5 year old or under watch Samuel l jacksons character's severed arm, raptors chomping on Aussie gun man, T Rex eating the lawyer for supper and all the other scary scenes. All ages suggests ALL AGES. Little kids that watch treehouse shouldn't be watching Jurassic Park.

    Do you have kids, motherfucker?

Jurassic Park is too intense for children, thus the PG-13 classification. I showed it to my daughter when she was 10 and she got so terrified she began crying uncontrollably. My wife thought I was a bad parent for exposing her to such an intense film at that age.

As for all ages film, I pick Back To the Future as it can be enjoyed by all audiences alike.

More 7 year olds would like Jurrasic park than bttf. That's more for 10/11 years and up- some relatively complicated themes/plots in that, allot of dialogue not very much action

Back to the future wouldn't be appreciated by anyone born in this century. That is a film that should be remade. I guess Huttub time machine was a kinda sorta remake but a genuine remake of BTTF based on present day going back to the 80s would be cool.

I never saw what's so good or entertaining about Back to The Future.

I don't mean just now, in the 80s as well.

    It's an overrated movie IMO.

    Yep. Totally average, mid-80s movie.
The 80s sucked generally for movies....

It's exactly one of those movies that...people who don't know much about movies....like.

Maybe it's nostalgia because of my age but I think that's a classic... Appealing hero character, colorful supporting characters, excellent juxtaposition of eras and styles... I can't imagine a story like that coming out any better than it did

Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on that padna. If you were 7 when it came out that would make you 30. In another thread you said you were 38. So there's a strong smell of bullshit in the air.

Back to the Future is a good shout. Great film. No idea what Mustard is one about on that one.

A lot of the computer animated stuff tries falls into this category. Films like Shrek, Toy Story, Monsters v Aliens, Ratatouille, Wall-e are decent examples IMO. My favourite is The Incredibles. I watch that film every time it's on TV - I think it's great.

Back To The Future has a great plot, is lots of fun, has memorable lines, likable characters, thrills, and paid so much attention to details that when you watch it again you find a lot of 'Ah ha!' nuggets that ties nicely with other scenes from the past in the film. I never get tired of watching this film which by today's standards it is sort of like Disney's 'Bambi', a great fun, innocent film like they hardly make anymore and still the best time travel movie ever.

For the record, I can't get on with the Star Wars movies either.
I mean the only one I like and think is any good is the very first one...

    Incredibles was shit.

BTTF was good, I do think it's a little overrated but I did enjoy it.

Lion King and Jurassic Park are both great shouts.

Actually, Shrek might be the best one mentioned. Hilarious film that the kids will love, plus subtle jokes catered towards adults that the kids won't question.

Empire Strikes Back was the closest thing to a truly great film out of the Star Wars movies... I think highly of that one, for sure... The original was good, too... Return Of The Jedi has aged worse than them... The prequels were all mediocre bordering on bad... I have not seen the one from last year
