Late 1982, instead of fighting Obelmejias & Hearns, respectively

    Anyone give Benitez a chance?

No.He'd do alright for a while, as long as he was "on", and he'd frustrate Marvin, but eventually Hagler would eschew the complexities and force a fight Benitez can't win. Hagler by TKO around 12, I think

Hagler would show zero respect for Benitez and mow him over like Hamsho did, except he gets a stoppage

Hagler mercilessly beats the shit out of him until Benitez breaks. It wouldn't take too long IMO.

I know Benitez looked like a bloated punching bag when he moved up to 160 in '83, but I'm sure if he'd moved up a year earlier it would have made all the difference...

Benitez's frame wasn't meant to go beyond 154.

If he's at his best, and he weighs in at like 155, then I see him presenting Hagler with some problems for a few rounds. But eventually, Marv breaks him down and stops him late. Just too strong, too accurate, and too unrelenting.
