Floyd mighta ruined him tonight. He beat him up bad not only physically, but mentally as well. He took Hatton outta his element as soon as the fight was signed and had Ricky talking trash in the build up(even more trash than Floyd). Mayweather was inside his head, and REALLY got inside his head by beating him at his own game. Ricky might never be the same again, even after he drops back down to 140. I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt he'll fight Witter.

    Hatton will be back....

Mentally he most be crush...but physically? This fight wasn't so bad on his body..it wasn't till the last 2 rounds that he got a nice beatdown..but nothing that will give him flashbacks to tonight..

he won't fight WITTER in his next fight..but i think he will fight him in 08.....

and Hatton did NOT talk more trash that Mayweather during the build-up...

I disagree. I think Hatton knows damn well that he gave his best shot against the BEST fighter in the world. He also knows damn well that he is too small for 147 and there are not too many at 140 who can take his brand of pressure.

I think the only change we may see in Hatton is the fact that he was knocked down so emphaticly and perhaps he'll go down a little easier in the latter stages of his career-- almost as if his subconscious learned how to get knocked down tonight.

In all, I think he'll be just as good as he was at 140. I would pick him to beat Whitter, or anyone moving up from 135 like Juan Diaz.

Hatton can move back down to 140 and dominate for YEARS...and YEARS...right now there is nobody at 140..or 135 that can beat him..

and He will train extra...extra harder from now on knowing he can't do shit at 147....

I agree with X on this one. He wont be the same again now that he knows not only that he can be beaten...but that he can be stopped as well.

It's going to knock his confidence.

    I disagree.

I think the complete opposite...I think Hatton will become an even better fighter with a lot more confidence...after facing the best fighter on earth, the other opponents will be a walk in the park.

Besides, although he got his ass kicked, he did not get beat up a la Jeff Lacy (who looks pretty damn shot to me).

Hatton will be back, just not against Mayweather.

coming into this fight his team was talking about him having only a few fights left in him

what can he do now? not much he can do at 140 apart from a money fight with Witter

With the style that Hatton has, he's NOT gonna get better with age. Ricky has a young man's style. He's pretty athletic, but as he gets older, and his quickness starts to decline, he's gonna become a VERY beatable fighter. Just watch. Whereas Floyd even as he ages still has immense skill to fall back on, and his style is better suited to for the long term. Ricky wont get better, I guarantee you that! We'll never again see the Hatton that beat Tszyu IMO.

He'd beat Diaz, yes. But Witter? Not so sure. Not that Witter is anywhere NEAR as good as Floyd, but he does have power, and speed, and hits from odd angles. And tonight proved that Ricky isnt no Chavez in the chin department.

There is no way Witter can take even the pressure that Hatton applied tonight. Whitter needs space to operate, and has nowhere near the ring craft to create it like Mayweather does.

I believe PBF used a phrase called taking one into deep water and then drowning him. That's what happened tonight. He jumped into a deep ass pool and was able to doggy paddle for a few but then he got drowned. Now as for those claiming that he's not big enough for 147lbs. Get the fuk outta here. What was the excuse they gave when he struggled against Collazo. He didn't have enough time to accilmate himself to the weight. Well he had plenty of time to get himself ready for the weight. That's just a piss poor excuse. Hatton just got pummled by a far superior fighter and that' that. As far as him being ruined. I don't know. But he might not want to fight in the US anymore. I'll Holla 5000

Thats true. I'm not saying Witter would win, but he would have an excellent chance. Witter is no Mayweather, but he IS alot better than Eamon Magee, a southpaw who decked, and wobbled Hatton once upon a time. If Witter catches Hatton coming in w/a shot he doesnt see Ricky could VERY WELL get stretched again.

Alot, call me crazy but..... Malignaggi could give Hatton fits. Not that he could hurt Hatton, but Paulie is quick and has a sharp jab, and Hatton cant block a jab to save his life.

My advice to Hatton would be to call out the Diaz-Katsidis winner. He could beat either one of those guys. But Witter is danger for him. And I HATE Witter.

It's funny you don't apply this logic to Jermain Taylor going into the rematch with Pavlik, Sly.

I think Hatton beats both of them. And I thought he won 10 rounds of the Magee fight. The KD was a flash/balance shot. Witter needs to be set to puch and he loads up. Hatton would push him back all night, and likely get witter to bitch out.

Taylor is fucked also. I do give him much props for showing balls and taking an immediate rematch, but Kelly is gonna blast him again. Only earlier this time.

Magee had him badly wobbled in the 3rd round of that fight. And Magee hits nowhere near as hard, or as fast as Witter.

And hatton is FAr better than Lovemore N'dou, who took 6 rounds from a lethargic Witter a couple years back.

Yes I know, but Sly doesn't believe that. Sly thinks Hatton is done after tonight's loss to Floyd, but yet he truly thinks Taylor can beat Pavlik in the rematch despite Taylor's brutal first loss. :dunno: Logic anyone?
