This is his latest claim. Appeared today out of nowhere to say that the Klitschkos are backing down on their demands and the fight is 90% on. He then finished by saying that the last time the fight was "90% on" that it never happened.:shit::shit::shit::shit:

Haye is acting as if the Klits have been in furious and prolonged debate with him right up until the present time. He was babbling about some "new" documents that he feels show the fight is progressing towards finalisation. I doubt the Klitschkos have spoken to him since December last.

I guess Haye is getting what he wants- continous exposure with absolutely no risk.

Haye says this to stay relevant. Without the Klitschkos he's nothing and he knows it. That's why he throws their name out every couple months.

WBA heavyweight champion David Haye hopes to take on WBO and IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko in July after rescheduling his next fight.

Haye claims a mandatory defence against Ruslan Chagaev in May has been cancelled, allowing time for the bout.

The Briton, 30, aims to unify the titles before retiring later this year.

"One way or another my next fight is going to be in July. I am hoping it is going to be against Wladimir Klitschko," he told BBC Sport.

    Yes....but we've been here before.

Taken from the same BBC article...

"A potential obstacle to Haye's plans is Wladimir's voluntary defence against Britain's Derek Chisora on 30 April - a little over two months before a proposed fight with Haye. "

First off, what a load of old spin. Haye doesn't have any fucking plans, at all, now that he has pulled out of fighting Chagaev.

Secondly, we know Klitschko is going ahead with Chisora.

    So...whats new pussycat...woooaaah a woaaaah a woooooaaaah a wooooah

I still don't think the fight is going to happen. If he won't fight a regressed Hepcat like Chagaev, in London, and honour his mandatory, then he isn't going to fight Wladimir. If anything, he is waiting around, playing this game to keep himself "relevant" and seeing what way the chips have fallen by the time both Klitschkos have fought later this Spring.

Nothing has really changed, yet here is Haye telling the press that the Klitschkos are coming around to Haye's way of thinking. :scratcher:

Haye probably paid off Chagaev. He knows Chagaev would probably batter him so he will probably go with the more lucrative fight and that is Wlad. He's backed into a corner, he absolutely needs to fight someone good and he knows it. It may be cash out time.

Clearly you haven´t seen Chagaev lately. He´s close to journeyman level now. The fight was cancelled due to Chagaev´s Hep infection, that won´t get him licensed in the UK.

That's what Haye says. If that is true than why has Chagaev not announced his retirement from the sport? he can't get licensed anywhere right?

He can get licensed in Germany, where Kohl controls the boxing commission.

So he won't go to Germany? Where you do think Wlad is going to want the fight to be?

even if Haye had gone and paid off Chagaev, even if the WBA had stripped Chagaev of the #1 status, whatever......there would be a new #1 appointed. Who is the new #1 contender?

Haye is just biding his time, carefully nurturing the impression that he is interested, all the while keeping himself "relevant" whilst waiting for other people to fight and seeing what way the cards fall.

All the while, he maintains this facade about his legacy being intact, and other people running and taking short-money fights to avoid him, waiting for Haye to retire soon, before his birthday, which he "always said" he would do. :shit:

This lad is a serial con artist.

Precisely. Haye could travel to Germany, make a career best payday whilst fighting Wlads left overs. Yet he prefers to tell the press that the Klitschkos are taking short-money fights to avoid him.

Who is Haye fighting next? Nobody.

Well different scenario, since the fight is a mandatory, and would go to purse bid, at which point I guess the medical issue becomes an obstacle. Besides that Haye would win that purse bid, since Universum is basically broke, and he could demand the fight to be in the UK, at which point it would be dead.

Then who is the WBA mandatory?:goodnews:

What will happen now is that the July 2nd date will still be there- and Haye will say he has a mandatory to take care of.

Have you followed the WBA lately?

Felix Sturm, Gennady Golovkin and Hassan N´Jikam are all the WBA middleweight champion.

I don't follow the WBA but I am aware of their general lack of integrity.

One thing is for sure- Haye will basically plod around in limbo until April 30th at the earliest. He will see what happens with Chisora and then make an announcement.

He already knows that Wladimir is signed up for two fights, Chisora then Adamek. If he loses to Chisora then Vitali gets the Chisora gig, and Vitali has Solis next.

So Haye is also watching to see what happens with the Solis fight. In the meantime he isn't going to sign on for anything which jeopardizes his chances of cleaning up the left-overs of any upsets or shocks by signing to face a mandatory.

And, all the time, he persists with this "I gone quit soon" mullarky.:boring:

You know what pisses me off is that boxing is one of the few sports where horseshit and hype and procrastination and timing are all necessary and can be the difference between making millions or getting nothing.

People ragged on Hatton for taking time to step it up, but he did, eventually, and when he did he retired Tszyu, unified, moved up and won a title at 147, then got his ass kicked twice by the very best in the world.

But Haye? Haye has just taken it to a new level. Haye wants the paydays and the attention at absolutely ZERO cost to his good self.

Haye has a good shot at winning this fight.

Klitschko is going to have to come in and fight the guy sooner or later, and when he does, Haye can hit him with that big right and that may be it for Wlad.

Klitschko has a world-class jab, is taller, and has better reach. Whats to stop him just jabbing this clown for 5 rounds, then timing him with the right. Generally, it is the shorter guy who has to come in, no?
