I think Warren is following the money, convention be damned, and it may have repercussions for British Boxing which go beyond this one fight.

 

I agree. I think the BBBofC will carry out their threats for fear of losing their monopoly on boxing here. As to the fight, Haye will probably win.

I think that a Surrender of sorts has been made here. Its as if the rule is follow the cash at all costs, 30,000 tickets is too many tickets to ignore. We all know this is going to be a pretty sordid affair which accentuates all the wrong stuff. I am no prude, in fact I enjoy my own fair share of written and spoken vulgarity, but this is a plain surrender to the yob element.

As for the fight itself, its of little boxing significance, Haye is merely looking for desultory pay-days to keep his way of living on the tracks, he's not interested in being a full-time fighter. Chisora has already lost to Fury and Vitali, and probably will wind up in jail at some stage and lacks the direction to parlay a win into too much. He's still banned in any case and the Luxembourg lot won't be too ready to promote him at a strictly British level.

I am more intrigued by the ease at which shite is sold, and by the impending Tsunami that is the BBBoC vs Warren than I am by Haye vs Chisora, per se.

 

Haye was only a snoozer in one fight at heavyweight. I won't mention it, as it pains you so. His other fights were low-quality, highly entertaining* fare, guys getting knock-down and stuff.

In any case, this doesn't involve boring Scythians or the gentle-natured Germanics, this is between guys who know how to rumble, and have a 70's Soundtrack to do it to. I say its going to be good.

There is lot of what passes for local pride riding on this fight. I mean, the losing bruvva won't be respected around whatever decaying tower-block these "real boxing fans"<strike>infest</strike> live in.

 

I think it'll be an exciting fight because Chisora, though limited, has balls and will come forward and make Haye fight. It's the only chance he has of winning and, given how he attacked (gamely but rather poorly) against Vitali, who is demonstrably better and more intimidating than Haye, I have no doubt Chisora will 'bring it'.

In order to increase the intellect of the general population and to assist in the better breeding of England, every single paying spectator at this fight should be taken immediately afterwards and brutally executed. It is going to be an absolute scumfest down there- I hope Ugo is tougher than he looks, because you couldn't pay me to go within ten miles of this fight.

And that's what its mainly about. "Bringing It" Booth is already talking shit about how "former featherweight" Mickey Vann simply isn't brawny enough to handle these raw unrestrained specimens of manhood. :shit: I guess Mills Lane was bigger than he looked.

Both "men" will be genuinely looking for a fast early stoppage.

Whether Haye is ballsy enough {with regard being had to his modus operandi, which is theft via false pretences} or whether Chisora is capable enough, are of course entirely different matters.

If it doesn't end very early, very soon, it could degenerate into one of those situations where the theft of an ipod at ringside, and the ensuing stabbing, turn out to be more entertaining than what is going on in the ring.

Outside of the Houses of Parliament, no societal cross-section would contain more thieves and low-lives than the assembled cast, crew and audience at the Boleyn Ground come July 14th.

I am not attending this fight, because a) I hate both fighters personalities and b) it's in fucking east london....the worst place known to man kind and the majority of people going to it are utter scumbags.
