I agree. I think those guys other than Mancini would've walked into some shit. Mancini could've won rounds, but I think Castillo would've set him up ultimately for a huge punch.
I dunno about that part. Castillo wasnt the puncher, nor the fighter that Arguello was, so I dont see him knocking Mancini clean out. BUT... I could see his heavy hands busting and swelling Ray's face up eventually. Mancini was bull strong though, idk if JL could out muscle him, and Ray had much quicker hands. Its not a sure thing either way, only thing for sure is that it'd be a brutal fight.
Castillo will probably be 147 during the weight in...foot under the scales makes him a Lightweight...by fight night he would be a full blown Middleweight..
Great fight between Castillo & Mancini, & the only one of those matches I'm making him an underdog in. He bests the rest.
I like Castillo against each of those other guys, but I think Mancini beats him at his own game He'd probably lose a stinker to Camacho, I dont know if hes tough enough to get through the early hell he'd be catching from Rosario, but if he did hed have a shot... I think he and Bramble would be a terrific brawl, but I might like Livingstone's cleaner punching giving him the edge
I agree on all counts. Camacho outboxes him, Rosario stops him, and Bramble decisions him in a close fight.
Castillo-Mancini is essentially a pick 'em. Gimme Castillo over the rest, he was an excellent champion.
I dont know if its a pick-em... I think Jose Luis Ramirez was a notch above Castillo and had a similar marauding style, he was noted for his great strength and Mancini beat the living shit out of him, he was too strong
This is true. Mancini I think was physically stronger than Castillo, and could push him back. The only thing Ray would have to worry about is Castillo's short inside uppercuts busting his face up.
that is very true, and Mancini was not one to escape fights unmarked either way, it would be a can't-miss brawl great mesh of styles and attitudes
