Anyone else think that they should change this rule? IMO, no skill is required to do this, especially in ground and pound. I have even seen it done standing up.
definitely more effective during ground and pound. during the brief time i was training to fight, in half guard and guard all my shots were getting blocked till i picked up that little trick. doesnt require skill but if someone is strong they can use it effectively to pound the living fuck out of you. standing up it isnt nearly as effective imo. but still, i think if it is effective and it works then it should be legal. just like knees and kicks to someone on the ground.
I got jumped from behind once, the guy took me down to the ground and was pounding on the back of my head. I got a hold of his hand, and bit the shit out of his finger. Tore his fingernail off and everything. It was quite effective as the guy started yelling "Ahh, my fuckin finger!". Should it be legal?:dunno:
thats how we roll on the reservation, homey:kidcool: but seriously, besides the "if its effective than it should be legal", the poster was on the money about holding and hitting to the head. There isn't a good reason why it should not be legal. Shit, the next thread will be, "Should triangles be illegal?"
I concur, Doctor. Especially with the stomps. Absolutely no reason why stomps are illegal in my opiniion. Makes zero sense. I don't agree but I can understand the logic behind no knees to the head on the ground, I just don't see any logic at all in making stomps illegal.
It looks too barbaric. Soccer moms all across America would have their panties in even more of a twist about MMA if they were legal.
i see it the other way around. No logic in banning knees on the ground (what's the difference?), but I can see why they would outlaw stomps.
