HOPKINS’ RACIST REMARKS MAY HAVE COST HIM THE FIGHT

Bernard “The Executionerâ€￾ Hopkins racist remark “I will never let a white boy beat me, never,â€￾ may possibly have cost him his fight against undefeated Welshman Joe Calzaghe for the Ring Magazine light heavyweight championship belt at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Sunday morning Manila time.

Two of the three judges who scored the fight for the 36 year old Calzaghe who is referred to as “The Prince of Walesâ€￾ were white and their tallies were enough to overcome the 114-113 scorecard of Adalaide Byrd who is black. Judge Ted Gimza scored it 115-112 for Calzaghe while Chuck Giampa had Calzaghe winner by an even bigger margin, 116-111.

 ,... and some of you wonder why the odd few posters get pissed off with bitter American journalism?.

That fight was easy to score. The only one that had it right was Giampa , so I see no bias towards the white fighter.

Byrd should be fired for scoring it for hopkins. THAT was possibly the only racially motivated score.

Black scorecards are owed a favor, for all their years of brutal oppression by white scorecards.

    Black scorecards were also

oppressed by black scorecards in africa. so don't blame it all on the white scorecards. Nobody is OWED anything.

    Nice.

    We should carry this further...

Obviously, Giampa is whiter than Gimza and Byrd, while being black, certainly could be blacker having actually scored some rounds for Calzaghe.

Cortez, being hispanic, was probably a relatively fair choice, but a mixed-race, 50/50 black/white would have been preferable. Since Cortez let Joe bend Hopkins over and give him the business without deducting a point, we should assume that Cortez considers himself to be more white than black, however.

Lederman did his part, same as Max and Lampley, but you have to wonder about Steward...

Do you think Hopkins even won the first round in Swedish bars?
