Pretty much. I think his only chance of that is to get Roy against the ropes. Jones will often go there on his own nowadays without even being pressed there. Trinidad will have to take the opportunity when it's there.
all he has to do is show up to the fight. he's fighting a worthless bum of a fighter so he should be ok.
If this fight is even slightly competitive for even a 30 second period in the fight, Jones would have proven himself to be beyond shot. Stylistically this should be as a big a mismatch as any major fight in history. Not only is Jones far more talented, but he's also SIGNIFICANTLY bigger.
Are you saying Roy's corner should be all over Tito's dressing room looking for tell-tale signs of Plaster of Paris?
What if Tito starts slippin'n'slidin', bobbin'n'weavin' and then uses his patented shoulder roll? Furthemore, what if Tito takes a page out of Willie Pep's book and decides to win a round without landing a punch? These pressing questions are just as valid as Double L's.....
Damn skippy. There's the GIF of Cheato's left hook floating around here, and I don't know how anyone can look at the and not see that it look's like his hand weighed 25lbs.
Maybe a lightning strike. In his prime, Jones would have been able to dodge it, but he's slower now. Ron Paul has a better chance of getting the Republican nomination than Trinidad has of beating Roy Jones at 175.
That's possible. I mean Zab Judah looks like Sugar Ray Robinson during the first 30 seconds of all of his fights.
i think the size difference more than anything will be the biggest factor in favor of RJJ. but i think once again people are under-estimating Tito's ability to out-fox RJJ in spots. the only question is whether or not Tito can hurt RJJ.
b.s. he's out-foxed every guy he's ever fought in spots with the possible exception of wright who managed to win every round without taking a single chance.
Trinidad didn't outfox Oscar de la Hoya, unless you count buying off the judges. He sure as hell didn't outfox Bernard Hopkins.
Trinidad out-foxing Roy? I think we can put that up there in the realm of possiblity of Cory Spinks overpowering Kelly Pavlik and Manny Pacquiao outboxing Floyd Mayweather.
I don't really see Tito giving Roy any more problems then Hanshaw did ... Actually , at this point in time , could Tito even beat a Hanshaw or a fighter like him ? I mean if Tito was fighting Hanshaw , I wouldn't exactly bet my house on him . Actually I wouldn't bet anything.
he did in spots. in both cases. and that's my point. odh especially was lexperiencing more and more trouble fending off tito's well timed pressure. also, whereas hopkins had no trouble dealing with tito's power, and ko'd him, he was certainly fooled in spots by tito's offense, and taken off guard.
