Hopkins was also old(er) and shitty when he faced Jones the second time.

No argument that Calzaghe was pure garbage.

    Their fight was shitty.

Calzaghe with his whack-a-mole slaps and Hopkins trying to win an Emmy. Hopkins of all people complaining about fouls.

    Calzaghe dominated Lacy, Kessler, Eubank

Hopkins dominated Tito, Oscar, Pavlik, Johnson and Tarver.

Your definition of “shitty” is different to the rest of ours...

If Memory Serves, Calzaghe Dominated the 2nd Half of the Fight...

REED Can't Say he's Ever Rewatched it, but it Seems Calzaghe SEIZED Control by the Rounds 6, 7 or 8, Never Relinquishing It...

yeah, he won most of the latter half of the fight, but the fight as a whole was far from a domination. It was dead even at midway point.

Ward against Kessler was a domination, he didn't lost a second of the fight. Calzaghe was a competitve but clear win.

Agreed on Calzaghe, who, if I watch now, am still perplexed as to how he got as far as he did.

Hopkins, on the other hand I've got a ton more respect for after re-watching his fights and watching what he did more intently.

Yeah. Slaps that cut the guys face open worse than anyone ever did. Same slaps that cut Jeff Lacy to a bloodied ribbon.

Calzaghe is no GOAT but it is a thin veneer of 168-175lb elite fighters that would beat him.

He did, towards the end, he had overcome the best the guy had to offer and was totally dominating him. Kessler lost the 2nd half of that fight badly.
