this would surely be one of the best nights of my life if calzaghe was beaten.

do you think kessler can do it.

unfortunately, judging form the only fight of his I say vs beyer, he's fast and has good basic handspeed and footspeed, throws a nice 1-2 and like to lead with a hook some times but he seems like an improved version of mario veit to me, who calzaghe blitzed.

can kessler do us all a favour?

it's tough to say. Kessler seems durable though. and he definitely hits hard and has good skills.

i too hope that Joe loses. it will be an awesome night if he does.

what i hope is that the referee doesn't play a role. i was disappointed to find out it's taking place in england.

I am picking Calzaghe, Kessler has become overrated and Joe underrated, because of his slappy style and lack of big fights.

I have managed to overlook his slapping punches, lack of big fights, injuries, and other bullshit - looked at him objectively - and realized he is a pretty damn good fighter.

He'll decision kessler or stop him late.

why would you do that? looking at him objectively doesn't change the fact that he slaps, gets injured all the time, and has avoided big fights. does it? as a professional, isn't the onus on him to earn your admiration?

Calzaghe will be to active, too quick on the trigger and too experienced. He'll win a close UD.

I'm just glad this fight is happening at all (although I hope the officials won't ruin the fight).

If Calzaghe beats Kessler convincingly, I'll have no problem accepting him as a legit P4P'er and the best in his division.

i agree. he'll have surely beaten the best man in his division.

still, doesn't it depend on "how" he wins? what if, for example, he wins by holding Kessler all night, throwing flurries here and there?

That's a good question. I think Calzaghe isn't really the type to stink it out like Borenard or Hugman. His brawl with Byron Mitchell was pretty entertaining.

As long as this fight doesn't end with a headbutt, or a shady ref stoppage, then I really won't have any problem.

Freaking toss up of a fight. Calzighe has the experience Kessler the youth. Calzighe also has home court advantage. Kessler really has to make something happen otherwise he does well and slappy gets the decision... And Slappy fucking knows that which is why he took this fight.

    Hopefully it's a good fight..

I think it's a toss up with Calzaghe being the guy I would ultimately pick just based on confidence and experience.

Joe turns Kessler into a 2 Dollar Whore, ala Jeff Lacy:warning:

Kessler won't lose nearly as bad as Lacy, but it will be a clear Calzaghe win. Joe is really THAT GOOD!!

I like Kessler...I've learned to respect tall fighters with tight defence and explosive power. People will be shocked how he handles Joe (who is a great fighter IMO).

Questions for people whove seen a good bit of kessler..

    kessler or calzaghe ...

    Faster Footspeed?
    Faster Hands
    Better defence
    Better chin
    Better stamina

from what I've seen claslap has faster handspeed.

kessler has the footwork advantage, defence advantage.

    Stamina is equal.

    Chin is debatable.

Kessler has the better power. MK doesn't have better footspeed by any means, he does however have better footwork. One of MK great strengths is hes always in position to punch, his footwork is impecable. He's truely a classy fighter and he'll stop Joe mark my words.

    Kessler has the advantages with,..

    *Ring intelligence, adaptability, boxing savvy.
    *Power to speed ratio.
    *Punch Accuracey.
*Better jab / straight right, lead left hook, better offensive arsenal, best combination punching (maybe p4p the best in boxing).
*Better footwork, footspeed, and defence overall,...
*Physical size and strength (I think he's bigger than Calzaghe).
    *Youth

    Unknown advantage,..

*Chin - Kessler's never been down, but at the same time his defense might be responsible for that, Joe's got a good chin,..:crafty: but definitely not an "Andrade" chin.

    Calzaghe's has the advantages with,..

*Weak 'point scoring' flurry speed  showman's handspeed.
    *Better inside fighter, I presume.
*More resilient, battle hardenned (This could work for or against Calzaghe).
*Stamina - definitely belongs to Joe,..it's the only grey area I'm concerned about for Kessler.

Have you seen his last fight with Andrade?..He lands 9 punch combinations all to the head, it's some impressive stuff, you don't see that often, but then again you don't have many fighters who can take those sorts of shots, Andrade is indestructable.
